Writes on lab benches!
My class likes doing work on their science lab desks with chalk. Buckle in for a dramatic story: I began the year and found a box of chalk left by my predecessor and had been using it. I got more chalk through the school and it was crayola an du septic, and it is TRASH (see top line of photo). I knew I just needed to order more of the other brand, which shall remain nameless. Why? Because it is the best chalk ever made, but they seemed to have stopped making it in the SEVENTIES, and I am gatekeeping it from you good people. See bottom line of photo for the most perfect chalk ever. Distraught, I went to Amazon to find a replacement and found this. Lab tables are less writeable than chalkboards, so they require softer and more pigmented chalk. I was explaining my chalk woes to other teachers and one gave me a piece of Hagoromo. See the photo for the comparison. This brand is very similar! It writes well. My second photo demos what all of the chalks look like after one (1) swipe of an eraser (not back and forth) to give you an idea of eraseability. All of them erased very well once I gave it a couple more swipes.Hope you enjoyed this journey with me. Happy chalking!

If you drop a piece it will shatter
My son says it’s great. It’s breakable as far as functionality but he says it lasts a long time

good chalk not great
great chalk, but this IS NOT AS GOOD as hagoromo chalk, but is still better than a lot of other options. Hagoromo is NOTICEABLY better. packaging is not as good as hagoromo. 4 sticks were broken upon opening. but 4 out 72 isn't bad. and to the dude who complained that the chalk wasn't white because it looked blue... this is totally white chalk. the blue hue is that anti dust coating on the outside that's supposed to limit dust to fingers. but the chalk's totally white and writes white... though not as smoothly as hagoromo.Update: yea it's decent chalk. it's not really premium chalk. i guess it's better than sidewalk chalk or crayola white chalk stuff, but comparing it to the korean or japanese premium chalks, this stuff is much lower quality. though that's reflected in the price. it's cheaper chalk sold for a cheaper price. if you're looking for something better than sidewalk chalk but worse than hagoromo or umajirushi, then this is it. but that's kind of a weird niche. most people just need some chalk for cheap utilitarian use or premium chalk for long days at the board. when i have long days at the board i turn to hagoromo or umajirushi. when i'm looking for stuff for my kids to write or play on the board or ground with i get the most chalk i can get for the cheapest price, which isn't this stuff.

Not a good product
The chalk was NOT dustless and all the pieces are broken. Would not order again or even slightly recommend.

Better than Hagoromo Chalk
Previously I bought into the hype of Hagoromo chalk and used that for a few years. I use about 100 pieces of chalk per year. This chalk here is actually way better than Hagoromo. It leaves less dust on your fingers. Less dust falls to the ground when you're writing on a chalkboard. Hagoromo leaves a huge mess on the ground. This chalk is even way cheaper. It's packed better too and less likely to break in shipping. Overall, if you're looking for an alternative to other fancy chalks out there, this is the way to go.

Broken chalk sticks
There was no effort to protect the box with bubble wrap or cardbord, it was just placed in a soft Amazon bag. The chalk itself is good as I have other boxes of this brand.
