Life saver for ear pain!
For a few years I’ve been suffering with side sleeping ear pain. So much so that I seemed a dermatologist thinking that I could possibly have skin cancer on my ear from how sore, red and inflamed it had become. This dermatologist recommended I look into a donut shaped ear pillow for sleeping, I completely ignored her pillow suggestion until recently when my ear pain had increased. So I starting researching and read too many pillow reviews to count. I came across this pillow and was instantly sold when I read the review from a gentleman who posted before and after pictures of his similar ear sleeping pain, and how wonderful this pillow was. He was right! I’ve only used the pillow for one week now, but I’m beyond thrilled to see my red inflamed ear from side sleep has already started to subside! Amazing product that’s seriously comfortable shredded foam inside with a super soft zipper cover included. Some complained of smelling off, but I’ve had no smell issues. Buy this pillow if you suffer from side sleeping ear pain, it’s worth the it and you won’t be disappointed!

My mom loves it
This is an awesome pillow my elderly mom was having some issues with her ear and since she’s been sleeping on this pillow the problem has cleared up, it’s a very comfortable and beautiful pillow. My mom loves it. I bought this one based on the reviews and it has exceeded my expectations. Support on it works out fine. We just make sure that we fluff it daily before she goes back to bed at night.

I had to stop using it
My dermatologist suggested getting a pillow of this sort because she diagnosed CNH. It helped some, but it became more hassle than it was worth to try to get my ear in exactly the right position to prevent the discomfort of CNH. Most nights, despite my best efforts, I failed in the attempt and pressure was exerted by either the stuffing within the pillow itself or the part of the pillowcase surrounding the hole. The result was that I still had some CNH to deal with. Less than had been the case, but not enough less. In addition, it comes with only one pillowcase and there is no indication that additional ones are available. So if it wears out, you get to buy a whole new pillow. It is likely that it will wear out, because it has to be laundered after a few uses; removing it from and replacing it on the pillow is a hassle. After I was about to give up on it, I noticed that my wife had a little U-shaped thing--actually closer to omega-shaped, minus the sort of serifs at the bottom of an omega (for some reason I'm not able to upload the picture I took of it in any of the various formats I have tried) that makes it easy to avoid any contact with my ear but supports my head. It is around a foot in diameter. Its brand name is Belle Hop. It is available on Amazon: My dermatologist suggested getting a pillow of this sort because she diagnosed CNH. It Works!
I purchased over a dozen different pillows to help with ear pain. This pillow was the clear winner. I will warn you that there is an odor to the pillow when you first open it and the pillow case cover is thin and not soft (only reason why 4 stars instead of 5).I ended up removing the pillow cover to wash it and then sprayed the pillow with an orange air spray. I set my pillow outside on my lawn chair for a couple days (or by an open window would work) to get fresh air circulating through it.The more I used this pillow the more comfortable it became. In one week in my ear pressure and pain was gone.I did purchase the matching silk pillow case but it arrived used and from looking at it, there was a bit of fabric pilling so this showed me the quality is not good. I’ll be purchasing silk fabric and making my own pillow case for it. Note that because of its size, the width of a standard pillow case won’t fit these.All-in-all, even with the smell and pillow case quality, I am happy with the purchase. Works great for fresh cartledge piercings in the ear.

Ear Hole Not Positioned Correctly for Me
Got the pillow last night and used it for the first time. Will try it again for a few nights but I'm thinking I'll probably return it. The first thing I noticed when taking the pillow out of the packaging is that it is wider than a normal pillow. I didn't think anything of it other than that a standard pillowcase would probably not fit. Anyway, I slept on it and notice that the pillow is too wide for me. I have to stretch my neck to get my ear into the hole. I'm 5'6" and the hole is about 1-2" too high up on the pillow for me. All night I struggled as I was always below the hole. When laying on my back, the bottom edge of the pillow is below my shoulder. Woke up tired and with my neck and back aching. I go to sleep on my side but usually wake up on my back. I've squished the pillow as much as I can to get it above my shoulders and get my ear in the hole but it just seems to be a lot of effort. I've never used one of these as I was just recently diagnosed with CNH and the dermatologist had recommended another model but I thought this would be better since I sleep on both my side and my back (and I didn't like the way the model she suggested looked). Anyway, will try for a few more nights before making up my mind about sending back since this is all new to me.
