I didn’t know this existed

I haven’t tried this because there is 3’ of snow on the ground currently but it looks like it will keep me from being on my hands and knees looking though the grass to find my brass. It came in the original packaging and it was all tore up from the post office delivering it but that’s not the seller’s fault, I was just happy it was all there. Very sturdy construction. Hopefully it works as well as I think it will. Update: I tried this product out when I went shooting in July and had mixed results. It works pretty good to pick up bigger casings like 9mm and up but not so well with .22’s in the grass. Hard surfaces are no problem but it’s the grass that has the issue. Otherwise I think it’s a decent product and will keep using it.

Very Effective

I read several reviews and was worried about purchasing this product. I had the opportunity to try it out today. I used it in loose but densely packed soil as well as in grassy areas. The key seems to be the angle you hit the brass at and whether it is somehow held in place. The only force used to pull the brass into the cage is the spring tension of the basket itself. Applying excess force to the handle will not help. I picked up 3 pounds of mixed brass at my gun club today. I'll use it tomorrow in an area with a different soil and vegetation mix tomorrow. I expect similarly solid results. A tip from my experiences today. Use a couple of .45 shell slid to either end of a wire section to easily empty the brass into a container.

This thing is great

Sure beats picking them up by hand. It’s not perfect, and it doesn’t get all the brass all the time, but it gets 85%-90% of them, which is a lot better than picking up 100% of them by hand. A piece gets hung up from time to time and it will spit a few back out, but like I said it’s not perfect. Name one thing in this life that is.I don’t know about the piece that is supposed to hook on the side of the bucket and spread the wires to empty the brass. It seems to me that just grabbing the thing and spreading the wires by hand and shaking it a few times is quicker, easier and a hellofa lot les complicated. But that’s just me.Handle is a little flimsy, and the tension extensions don’t stay tight, but you can thread a regular or adjustable paint roller extension on to the wire cage and solve that problem if it bothers you that much.I’m glad I bought it, but it’s a little pricey so I hope it lasts for a few years.

What a timesaver

Doesn’t work the best on grass, but still better than bending over for every piece. Works great on a solid surface. Extendable handle has its uses, but would be a little better if it was more rigid.

Keeps leaking out all the brass randomly.

Hate to be the one who has to give a poor review, but unfortunately this product proved well below expectations in terms of build quality and the effectiveness of its ability to gather brass at the range. My primary complaint is that occasionally it will release the brass that had been successfully picked up, leaving you with a task undone. That, and the friction locks on the handle keep loosening with mild use. Put simply, this product proved inadequate for its designed task.

The handle is garbage.

This product works pretty decent once you figure it out. I had read that the handle isn't very good, that was an understatement. Part of mine would not lock right out of the box and has all kinds of slop. It now has tape on it until I come up with a new handle. Seems that for the price, it should come with a decent handle.

Great Product

Picks up .22 rim fire -45-70 centerfire cases. I. keep what I want to reload and take the rest to the scrap yard for cash. Works great on all hard surfaces-on stones some of the small cases take a little extra effort. It is well made and easy to use. I picked up about 200 -9mm cases on flat surface in a few minutes. It is fun and I would recomend.

I like it

Works great for almost all casings. It's a bit more difficult to pick up .22 casings though, but it still works on them. Bring a bucket because it comes with a wire bracket you attach to the bucket to help empty out the casings. If there were a little more wires in the roller, it would pick up .22 casings much better.
