Great for RAID array
overall a reliable cheap drive for use in RAID. Drives last well and have great performance. Drives come well packed with anti-static bags and enclosing bubble wrapping

"New" drives are USED and over 1 year out of warranty!
Purchased two, and both had dirty finger-smudges on the bottoms... Suspicious, I went to register and the Serial number shows that the warranty expired OVER A YEAR AGO! Contacted Seagate, and they confirmed that both drives were sold as OEM and no warranty from Seagate on them... These are USED drives with NO warranty. Unbelievably shady of the seller to sell these as "New".

We have had a few of these fail after a few years but good performance overall. Delivered as described.

Used drive, find something cheaper if you can
100% USED HDD being advertised as new… Antistatic packaging arrived torn open. Drives S.M.A.R.T values read it has used up about half of its manufactures rated lifespan. I would have searched for cheaper had it been listed as refurbished/used in description.

Old stock, out of warranty drives.
Expected new drive from description, and box labeled as new. Checked drive serial number on Seagate website, found warranty expired a year before purchase (purchased December 2024, warranty expired December 2023, date of manufacture April 2019.)
