This is an elegant hardcover (clothbound) collector's edition of the Tales from 1001 Nights. Though an abridged edition, you could find all the necessary Tales of the Arabian Nights in it.There are several English translations of the Nights available in the market. (The most famous is Sir Richard Burton's 1885 translation; but its archaic literary style makes it heavy going for the modern reader.) What makes the Lyons' translation preferable to the others is its modern, contemporary narrative style.There is a paperback edition of the same book available in Penguin Classics, but I urge you to get this hardback edition coz a classic you're not going to throw away once you've done reading, right? Ain't no clothbound, simple paperback, I have seen better paperbacks to be honest. But excited about the book, I hope I can rely on it.
