Nature's Way Ivy Extract from English Ivy Leaf, Traditional Respiratory Support*, 50mg Per Serving, 90 Tablets

I purchased the liquid form of this initially from our local health food store out of desperation - both of my lungs felt like lead, so I knew I had pneumonia - and I don't have health insurance! Within 2 hours of taking one dose of the liquid, both of my lungs had cleared significantly. I really found this difficult to believe. I subsequently purchase the liquid for emergent issues like to clear colds or worse, but I also purchase this pill form and have great results. I smoke intermittently and when a cough occurs, taking 3 pills 3 times a day really helps to clear out my lungs. Interestingly, upon researching English Ivy Extract, it turns out the Europeans have this as part of their standardized formulary. I think of it as a miracle worker since it saved me from an ER visit and this is now a staple in my medicine cabinet.

Will adjust this review later as I've just started using this, but on day 2 - I'm noticing a much fuller, comfortable breathing capacity that is noticeable by running up stairs with less fatigue at the top. I also noticed a crazy level of improvement in smell and taste.My issue has been ultra sticky mucus that is often hard to clear without a Mucinex type product (which helps only a bit). Decreased breathing capacity is so bad sometimes that it can keep me up all night and make me less willing to eat full meals to reduce any added pressure of a full stomach on the lungs.I'm trying to temper my excitement as its a new thing, but my symptoms relented by A LOT suddenly so fingers crossed that it's not a coincidence that I'm feeling better than I have in a very long time.I haven't yet read up on the finer points of how this might be working but gave it a go based on general safety from side effects.NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, just my own experience review.

When I get a cold, I get a horrible cough that will linger for months until I break down and get a steroid shot and the pills. I am so sick of being on steroids. The last cold I got, I decided to try this supplement. It worked as well as steroids...actually better. My barking cough was gone the first day I took it. I still had a little cough, but it wasn't bad at all. The barking was gone. I had to take it for about 10 days for the cough to clear up. I had no side effects from these. From now on, I will always have a bottle in my medicine cabinet.

I heard about this product from the Advanced Natural Medicine e-mail newsletter, and it's too bad I hadn't discovered it before, with all the extensive research I've done on herbal remedies. Apparently this has been used for decades in Europe, so it definitely deserves a much wider propagation. It seems to work like a charm in breaking up that pesky lung mucus. So if you aren't getting the results from your current remedies, definitely give this one a chance. But only take one at a time, or you may find yourself exercising your gag reflex more than you want! Keep it handy -- I take mine with nettles, which is a great natural antihistamine or allergy-buster. I've had great results with this brand's products, too. I wonder if they also make a tea?

It's a good alternative for everyday use and not having to use something like mucinex, which is costly. It really helps get the mucus out, I only need to take 1 a day. When I feel I need increased drainage I can take two at one time. But these are effective. Start a low dose if just starting out or else it can make you gag a bit (it's working).

These are a Godsend! What a great product! Been a smoker for 35 years and have had problems with congestion and coughing. Every time I go to the doctor, she tells me to quit( of course) and hears slot of heavy congestion in my lungs. I went to the doctor about a month ago she listened to my breathing and said " sounds good". It really helps to alleviate the congestion and coughing. I sleep better. You need to get this product and don't ever run out!!

I love my Ivy Leaf extract, I always use this when I have a cough. I also use olive leaf extract in my teas along with taking this tablet so it can help with any mucous or respiratory issue that may come along with a cold or flu.

Excellent for when I have bronchitis or chest congestion.I have asthma and often get chest congestion and bronchitis. I tried using this over the past winter and it made a difference in my breathing. The congestion would clear up more quickly and I required my inhaler less during the winter months,Occassionally I would forget to take this when I had a heavy chest and the heaviness was more oppressive on those days I forgot the ivy extract. Hobestly, I think this is better than extra strength Mucinex, which I used to take nearly every day.
