Ridiculous that I need this, but it totally works to connect the Eufy Homebase 3 to a 3.5 HDD. I used the "BIPRA USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter Kit with Power Adapter" to power the 3.5" HDD and used the data side of this cable on the 3.5HDD.I then used the power side of this product to power the included 2.5HDD, and use the SATA data to USB adapter from the BIPRA kit to connect the 2.5 HDD to the USB port of the Homebase 3 as the "export drive."It's been running for several weeks with 8 cameras, no issues yet.

I rebuilt my PC. Most of the PC cases today don't have 5.25in slots anymore. In order to keep the Bluray drive, I tried many solutions. My first solution is using a SATA to USB adapter. I tried at least 3 different adapters. None of them worked with Win 11. It worked fine with hard drives but not detected optical drives. I bought this cable and modified one of IO shields so that I could plug the power connector and SATA connector from the internal PC. It worked perfectly.

I used this and another product, a Startech USB 3.1 to SATA adapter inside my case to run a backup drive outside my raid array. Works perfectly only using the SATA connection and the power from the case power supply on an older 2TB 3.5 drive. The SATA power from the USB adapter will only power 2.5 drives.

Works perfectly hooked it up to a old Dell laptop now I can easily swap hard drives on the laptop without partioning for different operating systems

This review is for a SATA extension but would appear to apply to every cable a desktop PC requires whether it is SATA, MoBo, USB cable.My view relating to Amazon PC cable options, your cables are probably:Too LongWay too longAbsurdly Long.I have built desktop PC's for years as a hobby but hadn't built one in about 10 years.So, I decided to build a gaming-oriented desktop. ATX form factor.Cables that came with power supply fell in the "Way too long" bucket, fresh out of the box. The case was on large size purposefully.I had purchased tall case to be proactive regarding cables that were likely too long.Once I started assembly, it became obvious I needed shorter cables.In my Amazon quest for SHORT cables, it became obvious that there are EXTENSIONS out the wazoo on Amazon, but nothing to shorten cables.I looked hard for short cables and bought some that didn't EXPLICITELY say EXTENSION.If I want a desktop PC with short cables I'm going to have to break out the wire snips and soldering iron.If I use existing cables that came with PSU and then use a "Cable Kit" as described on Amazon the case would be as tall as a refrigerator.I get that there are ATX motherboards and cases that are on tall side but I can't figure out why the purchaser can't have a PSU cabling option of Short, medium, tall.All the cables I have looked at would fall in the 2XL size.I am likely going to lop off several inches off of each cable and splice/solder those cables as I'm not fond of a birds nest wad of cables that I need to cram wherever there is some open space.
