1 Week in, VERY HAPPY
This pump replaced an older Hayward pump (also 1.5hp). The Hayward pump had been rebuilt less than a year ago with new impeller, seals, and motor.... Seal failed, motor was always noisy but got excessively noisy... New pump was not a drop in, piping had to be changed, but was fairly straightforward (PVC and glue)... Once it was in and wired up, WOW! Very very quiet, and twice the flow of the old pump! My only complaint is the motor wiring lead and junction box.... Wire seems flimsy and the junction box does not use a standard seal (the threaded cap) that would allow the wire to be changed and remain water tight... But, seems to operate well. Plus, Assurian offered to extend the warranty for 3 additional years for $30... Pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things... Will update if anything changes

Quality unit, glad I chose this one
I was worried as it looked small, and there were a couple complaints, it in fact was much smaller than my current and very old 1.5hp pump...it fit right in place only needing a tile to raise it a bit and the only thing I had to do was adjust the inlet side pipe where the last installer didn't use the slip joint...nice and easy install...convenient carry handle on top...quality made piece...runs quiet amd cool...I had an electrician wire it for me as I'm timid about 220v. Although this also runs on 110v as I understand, my system was 220v. I'm happy I purchased this unit over the $199 bargain one amd definitely like it over a $1500 one, lol. The only problem...Amazon shipped it in a huge box with zero packing...glad the factory box was well insulated...Amazon sucks!

So far so good
I should start by saying I am not an expert in this field but I am a degree qualified electronics engineer.Like most of you in need of a replacement pool pump, I have agonized over endless reviews procrastinating about my purchase. Recent changes in regulations means that the premium pump manufacturers that we have regarded as safe hands for decades can no longer produce in ground pool pumps over 1HP unless they are a controlled variable frequency drive. The result is a huge increase in the pumps price. Not wanting to invest 1500$ in to a 1.5 HP pump I embarked upon the search for best alternative. So why did I chose to buy this pump. Well, pretty much all the reviews were high marks with constant positive comments. More importantly, the company promoting this product are a reasonably well known manufacture/supplier of pool equipment located right here in the USA with a customer friendly website. They tell me that parts are readily available and off the shelf and all of the questions I asked prior to purchase were responded to professionally and quickly. I doubt very much this company actually manufactures these pumps but regardless, on receipt of my order I was impressed by the build quality. There are a couple of things on this pump that indicate it is not manufactured in the USA and really let’s the buying and installing experience down a little. While the electrical box that sits on top of the pump is very easy to access and work with, in my opinion the supplied cable and termination are a little under rated and I recommend upgrading to UL specifications. The cable entry is non standard and does not accommodate a standard UL flexible conduit adapter as per code in many States. I was originally going to drill the wire box and fit the appropriate flexible conduit clamp but I decided not to due this because it would invalidate the warranty. I ended up removing the supplied cable and replacing it with the correct UL approved one. I then removed the plastic retention nut on the cable entry and pushed the flexible conduit on to the threaded body of the original clamp, fastening it tight with a stainless steel C clamp. I siliconed the whole thing for water proofing. The wiring instructions for my 220 volt version were missing and not available on their website but I was able to work out the phases. DO NOT attempt to wire this pump without clear wiring instructions unless you are a professional. All supplied plumbing firings are first class lending themselves for a simple and quick install by a non plumber like myself. The pump itself is working well and is outperforming my previous pump. It has been installed for a few weeks without issue but I will update this comment if I have any problems. If I haven’t updated, it’s running fine.

So far so good (3/19/23)
3/19/23 (long post) - So far so good. I was glad when it was delivered the box didn't look like it was manhandled although one of the styrofoam pieces was broken but the pump didn't appear damaged. After reading the reviews everyone is correct the wires that are attached don't seem good enough to hold up especially here in southern Arizona so I removed the original wiring and replaced it which my wiring (solid wire instead of stranded). I installed similar lug terminals as it had to be able to connect to the terminal block. All this can be seen in my pictures. Ignore the color of my wires coming in since I didn't have enough red wire when I replaced the wiring from my controller to the pump and used white as one of the wires. It is still 220V coming in. Since it doesn't have the angle conduit connector for the conduit I had to improvise and it happened that the conduit fits the outside of the existing threaded plastic thing that is outside the box once I removed the plastic nut that used to hold the original wire in place. You can also see that in the pictures. Biggest problem as you can see was the height of the new pump is slightly shorter than original so I had to find something to raise it up slightly to be able to have the horizontal coupling fit. Once that was done everything lined up for the most part and just needed a coupling on either connection and a small piece of pipe in-between to make it all work. As everyone has said this pump is quiet and seems to be working great. Suction seems to be on par with my prior pump as my vacuum is running around at around the same speed. I'll see more later today since my pump has been out for a few weeks and there is a bunch of debris on the bottom of the pool. I'm hoping that this lasts as long as the Hayward that was in there but but even if it doesn't the price point was good enough that it is still worth it I believe. I went with this pump as it had the the same horse power that I had originally and the 2" connections which I already had also. I also didn't want to change my controller for a multi speed pump setup since I have all the automation built into this one thanks to a few wifi relays that I bought here on Amazon that let me control the operation of the pump, valves, and heater from my phone. I will update at a later time with how the pump is doing. By the way I took a bunch of pictures along the way and hopefully that helps someone else out.
