My favorite comfort movie of all time! I’ve always related to the main character as I’ve always struggled with people pleasing and extreme obedience- it made me very happy how she finds a way to overcome challenges and create boundaries for herself and those around her. It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry… it’ll become your new comfort movie like it has for me.

I love this movie and it was so nostalgic to watch this with my girls! They also loved it!

We both loved watching this

It’s clearly going to be dated since it’s not new, but it’s fun and my school aged children liked it. If it were made now, it might be less “ooh pretty boys make me swoony” in parts, but that’s also part of the charm.

This is a farcical, modern pop take on a fairytale story. Anne Hathaway plays the eponimous role who, like all the children in the kingdom, are given gifts when they are first born. Her gift of "obedience" turns out to be more of a curse when others find out she can be so easily manipulated.Shortcomings: Character development is weak for supporting cast, even for a children's film. Talents such as Minnie Driver, Vivica Fox, and Parminder Nagra could have been major players but are, instead, sidelined like a benchwarming cast. And the plot doesn't always make sense.Anne Hathaway is a born performer with a nice voice and wonderful comedic timing. This is a role she's familiar with and has mastered. Also, it's fun to see Cary Elwes play the villain in a story that parallels his first hit, Princess Bride.Favorite scenes: Ella sings Somebody to Love by Queen. The magnificent Irish landscape while horseback riding.

You must watch! Great for family!!

王道だけど、コメディタッチでおもしろかったです。若いアン・ハサウェイがやっぱりかわいい！歌もよかったですよ～（ブルーレイは日本の機器で普通に再生できました）

Wunderschöne Bilder, herrliche Kostüme und Kulissen und beschwingte Unterhaltung. Die Idee des Konflikts in dem Ella steckt, immer das tun zu müssen, was andere befehlen und wie sie trotzdem ihre eigene Persönlichkeit noch zur Geltung bringt, ist schön und gelungen. Die Figuren sind alle perfekt inszeniert und die Szene in der Ella singt, ist himmlisch. Von letzterem hätte ich gern noch mehr Einlagen gehabt. Es hat gute Laune gemacht und mehr davon hätte wahrscheinlich Euphorie erzeugt.
