I think I got it right.
I think that once this tensioner is installed correctly, this is a great product. It took a little trial and error. First I installed it like I thought it should have been. It was correct but I had the chain too loose thinking that the spring is what gave the chain tension. Then I hook it up backward and it worked out pretty good. I was noticing that when I was going to a coast it would run like crap and it was hard to get it back in gear once a pulled the clutch. At first, I thought this was normal but I said this can't be right. I noticed that the chain never hit the other pulley wheel, just the one with the spring on it. Then I thought that that other pulley wheel is like the stock tensioner. The other pulley with the spring is an addition to it. So then I realized that you hook it up as if you would do with the stock tensioner. The fixed pulley wheel gives the chain tension. The other pulley wheel with the chain is there when the clutch is engaging the gear on the motor. That force that happens when the gear engages is buffered by the spring. When you release the clutch, the chain loosens temporarily. Since the chain pulley is pushing up against the chain, when it happens the spring takes the load and the gear engages smoothey. Just remember to oil the chain (chain oil).

dont buy
piece of crap. ditch the chain tensioner. just put the chain on straight and if its too tight then force it to go on by putting the chain on and spinning the wheel. or get a half link if you need it. when you mount this on your bike frame the chainstay is probably not on your chain line and so this could cause your chain to come off the sprocket. also the mount screws are not good enough so it could slide over into your wheel spokes.

Not using it.
The kit came to me already opened and missing parts. Why stores resell returned items is beyond me. It came without instructions and it is missing 2 nuts. I found some makeshift parts and installed it according to a YouTube video anyway. After 1 trial run I removed it and put my original back on the bike. I'm not returning it because I may try to use it on another gas bike build.

Chain tensioner.
Great product for simple mechanical tension.Chains are heavy, try a heavier spring.

I tried this on both my bikes. The 2 wheels are too close together and they rub. Kept get chatter when it would bounce and hit one of the bolts. I wanted to return it, but they have a you pay the shipping, so I would have lose 1/2 the price I paid for it so I'm going to keep it for spare parts.

Five Stars
Worked very well when the stock part didn't.

Not so good
It’s adds an extra wheel which really does nothing except make it harder to align the chain. I couldn’t make it work very well, I just used the one with the motor kit.
