GREAT PRODUCT FOR FRENCH DOORS TO KEEP FLYING PEST OUT
Second time I purchased this item. I purchased this last April and it worked until February, even in the cold weather. Purchased my second one and probably will purchase a couple more for the next couple of years. Magnets work good, though I wish they were a little more powerful. It would be great if they could have a tab at the seam so when you enter from outside its easy access. I is a great product and highly recommend it.

NICE! Beautiful fit, excellent price.
**UPDATE 2019/06/16**As I suspected, the screen has now relaxed to the point that the magnets close without having to coax them. This material does stretch, so as long as the magnets to not separate during installation, making them initially tight is a good thing. It actually happened a little more quickly than I even anticipated.*****I purchased this to replace "Bug Off 72R by 80 Instant Screen" previously ordered. This screen, today, was just over 2/3 of what we previously paid, two years ago. That's current (TheFitLife) vs. two years ago (Bug Off). I have to say that the FitLife brand seems to be just as strong, but a bit more flexible. Moreover, The installation was quite a bit easier (but took a little longer), given what the manufacturer provided. I added more tacks than what was provided, but that's a negligible cost (about $1.00). This made for a much better fit, and tighter seal. I know I made it just a little too tight, but that will change in the near future... At first, we will have to make sure that the magnets come together, manually. As the fabric is "broken in," however, these magnets will form a seal without having to do that. This fabric stretches, over time, and that will allow the magnets to hang closer together, when in a relaxed state. It took a grand total of about twenty minutes for my wife and I (with a little contribution from my 6'2" grandson) to get this put up, including doorway cleaning time. If you don't intend to use the thumbtack quantity that I used (and your paint will not peel away from the wood, as mine does), I highly recommend that you THOROUGHLY clean the surface prior to attaching the screen. Here are a couple more suggestions:1) Don't remove the adhesive backing from the velcro until you are ready to adhere the screen to your surface.2) When attaching the rolled velcro to the sewn-on velcro, DON'T stretch either one. Lay the screen as flat as possible, and unroll the self-adhesing portion so that both are relaxed, but straight (a little tension is OK, but just enough to keep them both straight). This will prevent bunching, which will lessen your seal and your smooth application.3) Buy yourself a small box of thumbtacks, and place them about 6" apart, along the top and sides. Given that there are TWO magnetic openings, this will keep the outer edges taut, and allow a much better "seal" around the perimeter. This may be a bit of "overkill," but it will insure that winds are less likely to separate the screen from the jamb (remember, my paint peels).4) Avoid attempting installation on a windy/breezy day. You'll simply frustrate yourself, especially if you install this solo.5) Begin your adhesion/tacking at the top, in the center, and work your way out to the edges. This will allow you to control for "sag," rather than starting at the outside. It will also make it far easier to work the sides, once your tension is being controlled all across the top.Overall, this was slightly more time consuming than the Bug Off brand to get installed, but the advantage of having TWO magnetically sealed openings instead of one is a superior return over just one. Just one opening rather impedes being able to open both doors of a French door on "nice" days, when you'd like a breeze to roll through. Further, the fact that the magnets are all the way down the seam makes for a better seal than just the middle and bottom, as is the case with the Bug Off brand. Don't get me wrong... I loved the Bug Off screen, and it served us rather well for the three years we used it. I simply like the fact that, for two thirds the cost, this screen provides the means for a more effective all-around seal in the kit. No additional velcro was needed, whereas the Bug Off only provided "strategic points", for its edge seal. The Bug Off brand is designed to fit inside the doorway, whereas the FitLife brand allows for a seal all around the outside. This, to me, is a better concept. It keeps flying insect pests more outside than trying to seal inside edges, and the bar actually inhibits this, to a degree. I'll try to remember to update this, at a later time, when usage and wear can be reasonably compared.

No more flies!
Easy to install, Magnets work very well. Comes with an ugly lace valance trim that is easily cut off. Since we just installed these hard to tell re durability, but so far we are happy. Dogs figured it out immediately and it effectively closes behind them. We did have to slightly adjust the fit to make it seal more easily, but works great now. An inexpensive and effective solution. But trust me .... the valance is hideous and cutting it off is easy and does not affect the function. The manufacturer could easily save a few pennies by eliminating this eyesore....

Extra Inches Do Matter.
I'll start out with the fact that this is my second magnetic screen door. I had previously purchased Magnetic Screen Door, Wide Mega Mesh 60 X 80 Fit Doors Size Up to 58"W X 79"H Max with Full Frame Velcro Magnet Double Door Curtain Keep Fly Mosquito Out and with some rewards points, the price was about $15 dollars. I did in fact read reviews, and they were fair. Having never owned a magnetic screen door before, nor having any friends or family who had, I took a chance. The aforementioned screen door was of similar quality to this magnetic screen door with a few glaring differences.1. Size. 2 inches shorter by width and 1 inch shorter by height. Now, what's that mean you ask? Well, with my French doors, it meant hanging inside the door jam. The doors themselves are metal. See where I am going with this? Yes, the magnets stuck to the door. So, with a little ingenuity, I salvaged the Velcro tape and hung it towards the outside of the door jam, however now, due to it being so taut, well, the weak magnets wouldn't attract to one another without a little cajoling. Lame. For any DIY type folks, I do recommend giving the screen just a wee bit of slack, it does give the magnets more opportunity to do their job. It's a pain to constantly have to check to see if they did indeed snap back together after walking through it or hearing an animal come lunging through. Which leads to...2. An English Bulldog. His name is Odin, and he's mildly afraid of the outside world, so after he's gone outside for number 1 or 2, he flees Nature like a bat outta hell and literally sprints back into the house as if the hounds of Hell are nipping at his heels. So, over and over again, he'd bull-rush through the previous screen and after repeated times of this 80 pound monstrosity lunging head first through, the velcro tape began to lose it's desire to stick. Herein lies the rub. The previous screen door did NOT come with thumbtacks. This one does. So, Velcro tape and thumb tacks are supporting it. So believe you me, if you, your kids or your pets are in-and-out, you want this thing to remain sturdy, so use the thumb tacks.3. A Lacey Doily Thing. Yes, it's nothing that'll make or break it, but this screen has an added bit of flare in the form of a lacey doily thing attached to the top. It's not particular pretty, but it's of the same color as the screen and up high enough, you'll probably not notice it either way. But, you get it. And the previous screen did NOT have it. So, yep, there's that too.4. The Directions. Were in... wait for it... ENGLISH!!! OMG. Pretty cool, right? I thought so. The previous one had "directions" too, although I want you to use your imagination for a moment. Imagine this: there's a pre-school in China, and the children were being unruly. The teacher, an older woman, never married, making the equivalent of about $4/ hour is having an extra bad day. One of the little children finger-paints the face of another child. Mrs. I'd-rather-be-anywhere-but-there snaps and decides to teach this child a lesson. You see, her father and brothers run a mildly successful magnetic screen door company they've decided to add directions for us crazy round-eyes so that when we purchased their magnetic screen doors, we can hang them ourselves. She speaks mediocre at best English, as she's the pre-school's English as a second language teacher. Well, she commands the child, to write down directions for hanging magnetic screen doors. And, the result is a mish-mosh of "see jack hung door with tape". It was horrible and disconcerting that children are being punished like that, but I did get it hung. Thanks Youtube.5. An English Bulldog, again. Yes, Odin, strikes again. He hates motor noises. Food processors, hair dryers, and especially vacuum cleaners. So, I occasionally want to clean the carpet in my living room, the same room in fact that the French doors are in. I have to put him outside or else he'd attempt eat my vacuum cleaner. Well, as you might imagine, he snarls and barks and generally acts-a-fool on the other side of the doors as I proceed to suck up all the dirt and hair that he's so meticulously placed throughout my living room. Again, he's a big dog, and as he thrashes and claws and slobbers, the magnetic screen door is just hanging there like, "whoa, what'd I ever do to deserve this?!" Poor screen. Never-the-less, the screen was torn down. Ripped right from it's foundation of adhesive Velcro. After finishing the vacuuming, i proceed to go outside and take inventory of the damage. The screen was no more, having been ripped and shredded by the might of a dog with an uncanny hatred of motors and whining noises. RIP screen. Odin does hate the outdoors in regard to being in the outdoors, but he does enjoy laying at the magnetic screen door and staring at the outdoors. No screen, mean doors are closed. Odin can't lay down and stare at the world. Poor fellow. And, so here were are. Thanks for joining me on this adventure into caveats of magnetic screen door ownership. I wish you luck.Oh yeah, this is a nice magnetic screen door. I'd recommend it. So would Odin.
