Worked out good . Easy enough to install.

Installed easily enough in 5-way otdorpatio distribution box. Used for heat pump monitoring. Things you should know include:- this is not a wire through device. You must make 4 separate connections.- in 240 volt use there is no neutral connection.- accuracy is not specified. It is probably no better than 1% which is the spec for similar more costly units wired without a neutral.- the enclosed instructions are gibberish. You should know what you’re doing before opening the box.- like an odometer this device is not resettable.- use a properly sized quality screwdriver to tighten the wire connectors. The screw heads are small for the task at hand.- there is no spec on how much power the meter itself uses.That said, there are a few other notables:- it’s easy to read / use.- the price is attractive.- it’s small.Bought a second one and USPS lost it. Quick refund from Amazon.Bought a third one which arrived with loose internal parts. It worked so I kept it. Amazon packaging was inadequate for this item.

I have an RV that I am letting my adult son live it temporarily. We wanted him to pay his own electricity---this sub-meter worked like a charm!. It allows us to charge him weekly/monthly based on actual KW used. No arguments on estimated usage! We are not electricians, but have limited experience with minor electrical jobs around the house. We were very concerned about how this would work. Installation was actually quite simple placing the meter between our existing breaker box and RV plug. simple, 2 prong in/out wires...no ground on the meter--ground through the plug. We are so pleased with it and the price was well worth it.
