$1300 set did not have the 10 inch chef's knife
I researched the zwilling brand extensively before purchasing a set of pro knives. However, once received, I was missing the 10 inch chef's. The block had a space for the knife. Unfortunately, after spending all that money I had to spend another $170. But, I don't think I'll be needing any more knives from here on out. Anyway, very balanced, extremely sharp, look great, etc. Highly recommend if you can afford it.

10" Pro
I work at a local barbecue shop cutting and weighing brisket, ribs, and chicken, and this knife is a such a great workhorse. It offers a great hold and is extremely well balanced, and is so sharp it literally scares everybody I work with (myself included). I know I'm not supposed to... but I do use this to cut through cooked chicken and rib bones and I haven't had a single chip in the few months I've been using this, 6 days a week. I use a ceramic honing rod once a day and I've yet to need to sharpen it on a stone, it's outstanding how well this knife holds it's edge. You can get paper thin slices on veggies and meats, and I've found the shape of the blade is great for both rocking and thrust cutting, the latter of which I normally use. It's expensive but will undoubtedly last you between years and a lifetime if you treat it right, I couldn't recommend it more. (I would also recommend a cutting glove, it's SHARP sharp)

Henckels 'PRO' Rock!
The 'Pro' Knives with the 'cut-back bolster are the most comfortable knives I own. I am an executive chef and I am often called on to support kitchen operations in a high volume production corporate account. The Henckel 'Pro's' are my go-to workhorses. Comfortable, dependable, precision German steel. There are knives that you can pay more for, and of course let us not forget the trendy designer knives that you can pay a fortune for. Many different styles Damascus, ect...But Henckel's have been 'THE" professional chef's "GO-TO", as long as I can remember and they still never fail. Be smart! This knife will fulfill your needs....and your dreams! ....And be sure to add the 8" wide blade 'PRO' for vegetable cutting and herb chopping to your ensemble...Can't say enough about the 'Pro-Series' cut back bolster. The comfort and control are really pleasurable! Be sure to decipher the differences between 'Pro', 'Gourmet', 'Pro-S', 'Four Star', 'Twin'..There are different handles and qualities. Henckels 'PRO' Rock!

Amazing Knife
I love the knife sharp as hell, good edge retention. My dad has had a set of these for 30 years now. Happy I was finally able to buy my own set!

Poor quality...
Sorely disappointed in this knife. Blade chipped after 1 week of use. I figured that's why the product was so much less expensive. Good for use in a productive kitchen - I'm able to show students the difference between western and Japanese cutlery. Will probably stay away from Zwilling ...

Disappointing knife for almost $200
It's a cool looking knife, I've wanted one for a long time. Came with a cracked handle and not very sharp. Sharpened it once, didn't hold an edge for a week.. under mild use. Nothing crazy by any means.I heard rumors of other knife companies selling their factory seconds on Amazon, it almost feels like this is the case.Get a Shun instead, if you want a sharp knife.
