Belkin F9K1007 Wireless Router N300 XR

Just as advertised.

cuts my 5mbps connection by 4 mbsp effectively killing my internet. my old g class belkin router I planned to replace with this dose not have that issue at all. I tried it in AP mode and that did not make a difference. I will be tossing it in the trash unfortunately

I am on cable internet and the ISP provides a simple modem with no routing capabilities, and I didn't want a WAN IP on my PC. I bought this router to have a private IP and a firewall, and wireless just in case I need it.Pros: The interface is good for people who know nothing about technology. It makes it easy for Grandma Moses to get it running. The only light on the front is very dim. It has interesting features like scheduled reboots and energy saving modes that shut off the AP during certain hours.Cons: It is extremely finicky. If my modem is not booted and ready to give an IP when the router asks for it (DHCP), the router will not allow web traffic. It redirects everything to http://router. I have to reboot it when this happens. I noticed that the internet was loading pages rather slow or not at all on my wired PC (I have 50Mbps internet), and the Firewall on the router is the culprit. If I shut it off, everything runs smoothly. When it is on, youtube.com just DOES NOT LIKE ME. I dislike the simplified interface, but it does still have all of the features I need (DMZ, MAC filtering, Port Forwarding, etc).Overall, this thing does work, but if you are a power user and don't want to get angry every time the stupid thing redirects you to its interface, I would suggest looking into something else.

I had to redo my review because the router likes to drop the connection to every computer in my household. I at first thought it might have been on my modems side perhaps dropping the connection. However that is not the case. The modem is just fine as its the router that drops the connection randomly every 5 to 30 minutes or so. I can prove this by resetting the router via pulling out the power plug or using the software inside the router. Doing this will allow you to surf the web again at least for a few minutes maybe. I have 3 laptops and they all get dropped.So the router is now collecting dust. We have since bought another more reliable brand of router. I could RMA the device but I dont feel like calling customer service over such a cheap device. Sadly I would advise anyone looking at this model to avoid it and buy another brand of router.

Got this router abt two months ago. Our internet ran slow. Took us some time to figure out it was the router. Our internet ran 50 mbps while connected straight to the modem. 0.6 while through the router. I contacted belkin tech support, they had me change the channel in settings. That improved my speed to 12 mbps, but not to the full 50 like it should. Tech support had me try a hard reset, and now it won't turn back on! I'm done with this router and going to be getting a new one. Wasted $35.

This is the worst router your money can buy. Its horrible...it doesnt connect to the internet and it will sign you off every 10 min meaning you will have to unplug it all THE TIME! I HATE THIS PRODUCT AND WILL NEVER BUY FROM BELKIN AGAIN
