Big-screen stars Steve Guttenberg (THREE MEN AND A LITTLE LADY) and Kirsten Dunst (DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL) encounter a host of haunts in this delightfully spooky mystery! Buzzy Crocker (Guttenberg) is a hard-luck photojournalist whose unexpected encounter with an old woman leads him to investigate an unexplained, decades-old disappearance. It seems that one Halloween night, many years ago, five partygoers vanished in the elevator of the Hollywood Tower Hotel ... and ever since, their ghosts have remained trapped inside the dilapidated old building! In an action-filled story that delivers creepy fun for everyone, Buzzy ultimately teams with his niece (Dunst) to solve the mystery while managing to save their lives and capture the biggest story of the year!|This movie is perhaps the first to be based on a theme park attraction, rather than vice versa. Since it wasn't possible to film in the Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror at the Disney-MGM Studios in Florida (in the film, the lobby had to be shown in its 1939 splendor and then aged to 1997), an accurate replica was built in a warehouse.

I love this movie.
I am 55 and finally saw this movie for the first time 2 years ago. I have so much fun with it! I look forward to every October just so I can see this movie. :o) Tower of Terror was my favorite attraction at CA Adventure. This movie brings back some nice memories and vibes. Back when Disney was making some really fun stuff! A nice, fun, old fashion family movie. Or a fun movie to enjoy on ones own.

Great Movie for younger children at Halloween!!
I have 4 and 6 year old daughters, and the 6 year old is into "real" people movies now, and doesn't really care about the 'Berenstain Bears halloween', or 'Dora's Halloween' anymore. So, I starting researching the good reviews on Amazon, for children's halloween appropriate movies, for her this year. The movies I chose - were based solely on the reviews I read, and the number of good vs bad reviews, etc...Everyone is right about this one!! It's perfect for any kid between the ages of 5/6 and 10/12. Adults will enjoy it just as much (if you enjoy watching movies appropriate for your kids). There is nothing "too scary", no blood and guts, no horribly evil characters. Of course, there is the 'bad lady', and a few 'jump out and scare you' type things - but there is nothing too over the top for a young kid to handle. 2 thumbs up from me!!! (ps..my 4 year old watched it too..no problems!!) I also bought "The Little Vampire" and the "Halloweentown and Halloweentown II" combo set - which I also recommend. In comparison - you'll be able to tell that the Disney Tower of Terror had more "money" to film with, but the other's are just as age appropriate.

Perfect for spooky movie time!
I’ve been searching for this movie since I was a kid, and Amazon/this seller were the only ones who had it. I’m really happy with this purchase.

Enjoyable Movie
This was a made for TV movie by Disney trying to capitalize on their new Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride. Disney would of course go on to make other ride related movies. You'll notice no Twilight Zone mentioned in this movie title, most likely a licensing thing. The story itself is ok. People disappear from an elevator in the 1930s at the famous Hollywood Hotel. Just like the ride. Fast forward to present day (or 1990s in this case) and a struggling writer finds there may be a story here with the disappearance that he and his niece investigate. It adds a little twist. Most of the acing was good, except for the main character, Steve Guttenberg. Though I like him in comedies, his semi-dramatic acting left a little to be desired. There are many scenes which look filmed on location at the ride and you will get a definite feel like you are at the ride. There is some scarieness for younger viewers with what appears to be ghosts and things popping out. I wanted necessarily give it a PG-13, but it is definitely not a G movie. It's enjoyable to watch, especially if you like the ride. But this is not Pirate of the Caribbean.
