Oven Repair
Repaired my old oven to get a few more years out of her. It’s working great.

Exactly what I needed to fix my stove
I went for 4 months with no oven, I finally figured out exactly the one I needed which was this one for a GE stove, it was so easy to do, I did it myself while my husband watched lol. So far my oven works perfect and it’s been a few months now. And I bake everyday nearly. Quality part, very affordable, it is just the part. Keep your old screws and reuse.

exact fit
This unit was a super easy drop-in replacement. Got the oven working again as it should. Pleased with the entire transaction.

Not OEM but it works, lower priced than most .
The last one of these I bought lasted about 2 years, and when it burned out I opted for a more expensive replacement, which cost about 3 times as much. Well, that unit burned out after 5 years, so this time I went back to this company's offering. It arrived two days late, but it did arrive in good condition. I installed it and set the oven to bake on the lowest setting to burn off any "new smell". We used the oven last night and it functioned properly. How long will it last? I don't know, but I believe it to be a better value at $28 than the competition's offering at $95. The removal and installation is the same for either, and I will buy this unit again if it lasts a decent amount of time.

Price was right and it was good quality, but it was the wrong part.
The WB44K5012 is NOT a substitute for a WB44X5082 used in GE JSP28 ODxx series of electric ranges. It can be made to fit (a little re-work with tin snips and vice grips) and I got it properly mounted, but the connections are for 1/4" push on spade terminals and not 1/4" screw terminals. Finally, the 240V connections are with 1/16" of the metal rear cover which is painted metal. The price is very good and the product well made but this particular element is quite different that those used in GE Profile ovens made in the early 1980's. I re-machined it up enough making it "fit" that it was inappropriate to return. Return shipping was probably not cost effective, either. My thanks to Amazon for shipping it so quickly! Sort of curious how the "wrong" parts arrive so much more quickly that the "exact replacement" parts.

Works Great; have saved 2 ovens thanks to these!
Not much to say as it is exactly what it says it is, a GE baking element. With that said I have with two different ovens had that moment where you see the element burning out like a sparkler on the 4th of July. Once you get over the initial heart sinking feeling and take a moment to get the model number/part numbers you can find out that for a very small amount buy the elements.Ironically both elements I have bought were this same part number, just 4 years apart. What I can say about each experience is the same. Replacement is very easy if you have any DIY to you at all. Typically there are 2 screws to remove/replace the element into the back of the oven and two wires with clips that have to be removed then replaced onto the new element. One word of caution, sometimes the wires are very short and you need to be very careful to not have them fall back into the back of the oven. If this happens (speaking from experience) this becomes a slightly longer replacement due to getting that wire back out.In both experiences our oven was not very even in heating for a while prior to the failure of the old elements, but right after replacement they worked as if they were brand new ovens. Short story for 15-25 bucks you can save yourself from buying a brand new oven.

HA! Fantastic!!
Honestly, was a bit afraid to order this oven part online. I have been 'burned' before by parts arriving that are wrong. But I went ahead with the order because I was baking for a funeral this weekend. The shipping was fast. (side note, they did not ring the door bell so had no idea it arrived). The outside box had no damage but the inside box did have some damage, which made me cautious. But the part was in perfect working order! No dents, nothing was uneven or bent where it should not be. Breakers were off on the oven. I did pull the oven away from the wall, pulled out the racks, used a camping lantern (HUGE HELP!!! instead of using a flashlight since I was doing this by myself). Undid the screws (2), put in a cup (don't want to loose them), gently pulled the element straight toward me. I knew to be careful with the wires because they can go back through the holes in the back of the oven. I had tape ready just incase. But didn't need it. Took the new element out of the box, compared and measure both. Much to my delight, THEY MATCHED PERFECTLY! (SHEWWWWWWWWW). Inserted the new element, attached the connectors. Made sure they were snug. Checked everything twice, plugged it back in, turned the breakers back on. Not gonna lie about this next part, turning the oven on, had me freaking (scared of electrical fires but had my fire extinguisher at the ready). Turned the oven on at the lowest setting (thought start low, just to make sure). Held the door open just a tad and sure enough, everything worked perfectly!! (Yes I did squeal). I actually tried it a few times more before pushing the oven back (plus cleaned again behind, wiped everything down, took out the drawer).

Good, but not GE
This inexpensive element appears to be well-constructed, works well, and meets the specifications for our older Hotpoint oven. I docked a star because the product I received had no indication whatsoever that it was made by GE (unlike the element I replaced which had a relatively large GE stamped on the attachment plate). It appeared to be manufactured by some aftermarket company with three initials I couldn't quite make out. Furthermore, there was adhesive residue on the element where a tag or label had been removed prior to shipping, and this residue generated quite a stink the first time we used the oven. Ultimately, the item we received looks like it will meet our needs, and appears to be a great value (although my fingers are crossed that it is not an inferior aftermarket product).SAFETY WARNING: UNPLUG YOUR OVEN (OR SWITCH OFF THE BREAKER) BEFORE CHANGING THE ELEMENT!!! Even if the oven is turned off, the blade terminals may still be live and could burn a hole through your oven wall (or your finger/hand) if grounded.
