Solid construction, tough enough to be a stompbox project frame.You would need to add rubber feet with longer cover screws, or a non-slip rubber pad.

The construction of the box is fairly typical, however, the actual unit is smaller in all dimensions than advertised. It is not 4.53"x 2.56" by 1.38", it's approximately 4.37" x 2.37" by 1.19". But what you probably really care about are the inside dimensions. Those are 4 1/4 long by slightly under 2 1/4" wide by just under 1" deep, although you could probably get a smidge more than an inch (26mm?) because of the slightly recessed design of the top. I will find out because I intend to mount Switchcraft 1/4" TRS jacks in it and they are slightly under 1" in depth from the mounting base back to the very end of the tip connector. I bought this box because of the stated 1.38" external dimension. 0.2" short may not sound like much, but it's the difference between the tip of the jack potentially touching the case and shorting out, and having sufficient clearance for a lifetime of trouble-free use.How hard is it to measure a box and report its dimensions with accuracy? Have we devolved to the point where we can no longer do or expect that?

Perfect size for a guitar pedal. Solid build. I gave it 4 stars because like others stated the thread tapping on the 4 screws is awful. Pitch is good but not deep enough and one was slightly crooked. They hold but you need to get a good screwdriver and run the screws in and out a few times to get the screws to seat properly.
