Kidde KN-COSM-IBA Hardwire Combination Smoke Carbon Monoxide Detector Battery Backup Voice Warning Interconnectable (2-Pack)

I purchased what was initially installed in our home 7 yrs ago. We have 1 upstairs and 1 down. These apparently, are the master to all the additional detectors that are connected to these 'brains'! After we took the bad one down (12' in the air), we left the part that is screwed to the ceiling with wire connectors dangling. When the new ones came, we checked the connectors and they were the same and it was installed in a matter of 2 min. Most difficult was climbing up and down that horrible ladder. The pkg came with 2, so when the one quits upstairs - we know what to do! Perfect match!

Two of mine finally took a dump after just under 10 years . These come with an internal Lithium back up battery and are supposed to last the 10 year life of the unit, so they are a little more expensive. My old units (same make) had the same plug types so my instalation per unit was less than a minute each. Took longer to open my A Frame ladder, than install the new Detector. Aside of the cost, very pleased!

This was a terrible purchase. Things should NOT be non- refundable. Two customer service reps said they would help but didn’t. Then the third one just said no. We should know when it is a third party selling!

As advertised worked perfectly

Not only were these products highly overpriced (Home Depot sells them for $ 49.97) almost half of the shelf life was gone on them. The carbon monoxide alarms are supposed to be changed after 10 years. I had expected to find a manufacture date somewhere close to my purchase date. These alarms had a manufacture date on them of October 2020 which means they will only be good for 6 more years .. so not only was I duped as far as the price being way out of line but also the alarms were seriously outdated.
