The ones I bought are in the old packaging but it was a while ago when I ordered them.

Q: What shade of red is 6-88? I've been using 6-77 for years and want a different shade.

It's totally red - no hint of copper. I love it, but if you're wanting something that would pass for natural, this one's not for you. Check the Schwarzkopf website. You can see the 88 &77 side by side.
