PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING:========================Clarification of certain misconceptions about Iron Tawa :1. Regarding RUST : This Tawa is made up of Cast Iron. It will 100% rust as rust is prime property of Iron! It doesn't mean there is manufacturing defect. Iron rusts naturally and even faster in case it comes in contact with acidic items.To keep this tawa rust free one needs to SEASON it mandatorily. Procedure for seasoning is given below in my original review.2. Make it NON-STICK : Here also seasoning with oil is mandatory without which every item be it dosa, roti, egg etc will absolutely stick. But once seasoning is done nothing sticks to it. The nonstick action is better than non-stick cookware.3. Weight : Iron is a heavy metal. Don't expect aluminum (non-stick) like weight here. It will be heavy and Iron has been used for 1000s of years for cooking purpose before other poisonous items like aluminum and Teflon (non-stick coating) was invented. I guess we need to compromise somewhere for better health.I have been using this for over one week without any sticking problems. After each through wash seasoning is required. And before using for the first time wash it with hard steel brush and scrub for at least 5 minutes before seasoning. This will 100% guarantee NON-STICK capabilities. I remember my mother seasoning all iron Tawas and Kadai's before use always.UPDATE OCTOBER 2022: Still going great. We use steel brush to clean this Iron tawa and it gets really clean.ORIGINAL REVIEW :Very good Tawa. Strong sturdy and even.I was fed up of non-stick that only last 2-3 years and can't be cleaned using rough methods. After years of using Aluminum and non-stick we have gone back to steel and iron like everyone else who is health conscious. This Iron tawa is perfect in this migration. I threw my old non-stick.Before using iron tawa and other iron cookery always season it by cleaning throughly, heating and applying sunflower oil all over tawa on both sides and washing with water while still hot. Re-heat and apply oil again, heat in medium flame for few minutes and wash with plain water. This makes it perfectly non-stick and rust proof. Remember to apply oil on both surfaces. I have done the same pictures attached.Remember Iron is safest for cooking and also extremely healthy for whole family as our body needs iron and using iron tawa daily will certainly fulfill the needs to some extent. Avoid use of aluminum or non-stick.

Good tawa for daily use

I was searching for something simple and in quality for chapatis. Finally I came across with this brand. Good quality. Strong and thik bottom. Proper guidance given how to use and I follow the same.

Not a great tawa. You can use it in low to medium heat otherwise Phulka will stick to tawa. Did not return as I started using this in low to medium flame. Not for dosas as centre portion gets heated fast.

I ordered it and gave to my daughter who is living in USA,she told me the upper layer is removed and shared me photo,I was surprised how cheap quality product it is ?The 3-4 kg weight is also wasted in the luggage.Please look this.
