Volume erratically changes and pauses audio. Get the real cable from Sennheiser.
I bought these for use with my Sennheiser IE80 headphones but it does not work. Volume erratically changes and pauses audio. Bad design, when you touch the input end on your device the volume moves or the player all together pauses. This happens when you touch it with your hand or simply moving around in your pocket. Do not buy.I do however recommend getting the genuine cable from Sennheiser for the IE8i. It is the same connectors and mic. Works fine and is only $35. Product SKU: 542182. You can search the site or call and order it from the parts department.

A case study in strain relief...or lack thereof
Update: Thirteen months after buying this cable, and thirty-six months after buying my IE80s, both are in use right now as I update this review...I guess I'm cheap :) Over time, though, this cable has developed an annoying twisty-turny opinion on the right side, but it was never flexible from the start. The lack of meaningful strain relief has caused me a few scares over the months, though, where I was sure the cable was toast (hard 90 degree bends). It has endured a lot though, and I reiterate that "functional" is unfortunately a selling point in the IE80 cable market. Part of me wants to take off a star for my disillusionment, but I'll leave it at four since I never expected it to last this long. Besides, I immediately forget about the cable and other things whenever I listen to music or watch videos, so it's not a huge deal as long as I have a replacement at the ready for when it breaks. I think my next cable will be handmade since I like electronics projects.---I bought these for my IE80s which are still kickin'This cable is...okay. Sadly, that's a compliment in the market for third-party Sennheiser IE80 cables. Both sides are equally loud and the buttons work, so it ticked all my boxes. The remote sits a bit higher than I would prefer which leads me to think the designer didn't understand the whole around-the-ears thing.I think the official cable is overpriced, but I think this cable is fairly priced. That said, I do regret not asking around first to see what others may have gotten first.

Good Quality, mic didn't work for me.... But customer service rocks and sent me a perfect one!
Had the cable for a month and it has already outlasted the OEM cable from Sennheiser.Cannot however get the mic to work properly on my LG V20, nor does it work with an Xbox controller.Sound quality is good, no difference from stock IMO.Shipping was lightning quick.Would be 5 star if mic function worked.Edited to add: Talk about customer service! Shortly after posting my review of the cable, Lilian in the customer service department emailed me and let me know they had put a replacement in the mail.Hopefully it will work perfectly when it arrives and I'll further update when they arrive.Edit #2: Received package directly from China today, and it looks like they've made good on their promise. My replacement with mic works flawlessly and even feels a little more supple and not quite as shiny as my previous cable.Thank you!

They're alright. If they break I'll rewrite this review. --I rewrote it.
[Edited, go to the bottom]I bought these after my original ie80 cable's jack got bent in a bike crash. This replacement cable is a decent replacement. So far, first impressions of the cable:they are "braided" (wrapped around in a double helix pattern then coated in some sort of plastic very flexible resin. Because of this I expect they will not last as long as the original cable but that is to be seen. They may also be more flexible in colder weather but it's too warm for me to tell. They have a mic, volume, and pause button! My favorite addition that the original ie80 cable should have included is featured on this replacement! Woo! It works fine with my iPhone 5.Sound quality seems to be identificle to original cable but that is expected. If it starts to crackle because of a loose or broken connection you'll know right here.Driver connection; other reviews suggested the connection between the actual earpiece and the cable is loose. I found myself in a similar boat. It's not LOOSE. It's firm and I tea rir to hold them in but it doesn't feel as strong as the connection between the earpiece and the original cable. If they ever disconnect by themselves I'll report it here. There is no little thing to clip the wires together for easier packing. The rhing that'd keeps your earbuds together? That little rubbery thing? It doesn't come with these. I'm a little sad but it's not a huge loss.Overall they seem like good replacement cables. I have no major complaints. 4/5 stars, good job.------------They feel flimsy. Microphone sounds like I'm underwater. Connector to driver itself is very bendy and doesn't feel secure st all I'm hesitant to pull it out because I feel they may not stay in the next time I put them in. Where cord splits in two could have been built better.I'm very let down by this cable. In line controls work and cable isn't stiff in the cold. You should buy a better (gasp) more expensive cable.-------------------ᴥ-9/28/2017The left channel broke. Oh and the new cable holds onto my earbuds snugly. So there's that.Amazon UK sells authentic ie80i and ie80 cable. I recommend getting that.

Better off with the Sennheiser cable
They are OK. The quality is decent but it is very cheap. The sound controls aren't the best, and it's unclear which button you are hitting as everything is on an even level whereas Apple earbuds, and other sport earbuds have a concave portion for the pause. The pause did not work for me on my iPhone 7 either which immediately killed any enjoyment I was going to have with them anyway. I ended up just using the Apple ones while I waited for my Sennheiser brand cable to come in and the experience was much better.
