Fixed the issue with my trimmer head seizing
Like many others here, I was having an issue with the string trimmer head on my FS-45 melting. The first time this happened to me, I wasn't sure what happened as the trimmer head had moved up and spun against the guard so as to melt it and ultimate fuse together. This happened again with a new head, and then I realized that the end of the trimmer tubing where this part is located was getting so hot that it was melting the head where the hex drive head sits in it. I tried to lubricate the original part with some heavy-weight 3-in-1 oil, but that didn't fix the issue. After some research, I found this part, ordered it, and installed it. The end gets warm, but not hot like before. The installation is relatively straightfoward and pretty easy. It probably took me about 15 minutes to install. Works great!

Grenuine Stihl replacement part!
This was the exact replacement part I needed for my FS 40 curved shaft string trimmer! Not that easy to install, but there are videos that show you how!!My assembly was stripped out and stuck and I was able to repair my trimmer without buying a whole new shaft assy from Stihl. The cost to repair would be prohibitive If I had to buy a whole new curved shaft assy.

Worked perfectly!
This worked perfectly on my Stihl FS40C. My head kept melting off and after watching some YouTube videos turned this part needed to be replaced. Also you will need to buy the lubricant. It has a small hole that allows you to put the lube inside. This was the reason it broke, this needs to be lubed about once every 6 months, more if you use it very often which mine I use about once every 2 weeks or so. Super easy to install and remove, just use a long ratchet socket to punch it in but don't hit the tip directly or it won't last as long.
