My wife runs an estate sale business, so a little over a year ago I got her set up with Square to act as a POS with a few Android tablets. Pretty good change from 'big chief tablet' way of doing things, however the Square was still a little clunky to manually use when you have a line of people waiting on you to process their sale. So..........I wanted to look into adding a scanner and going with a barcode system. I tried a 'generic' scanner, ordered here, so a cheap-o one because from what I'd seen most any scanner was 'plug-n-play' so I figured they were all about the same. WRONG on my part. Got the cheap-o in and Square wouldn't even recognize it. So, more research and more talking with Square and everything kept pointing to this one.Ordered it, not really liking the price, but oh well, if it works it's worth it I guess. So got it in and plugged it up and Square instantly recognized it. Next up was establishing a barcode system that was easily accomplished vis Dymo (also ordered here). Extremely easy.Spit out the barcodes, reader reads them perfectly and now we're off to the races and whoever is running the checkout will no longer need to search for the right items to key in. It'll all be automatic and our reports will be WAY more accurate.WIN/WIN******update*****2/18/22One of the tablets quit working with the scanner, so in the meantime I ordered a new tablet. These are ALL Lenovo by the way. So got the new one in and of course, they've changed the charging input (where you plug the scanner in) from a micro usb to a 'c' input, so I had to get a new adapter to be able to plug the scanner into it.FAIL..........the tablet wouldn't recognize the scanner.When the scanners work, the tablets recognize them as an 'external keyboard' and through some magic it allows the scanner to work. So with this 'c' connection, the new tablet isn't recognizing it at all.So......back to the original tablet that quit working with the scanner. After a lot of 'plug and unplug' I've narrowed it down to one scanner that doesn't work and a couple of others that do. So I honestly don't know if it's the scanner itself or if it's the connection (the adapter(s)). Very frustrating as the scanner is powered but the tablet doesn't 'see' an 'external keyboard'..........so I'll keep troubleshooting.
