Good product
This is a good product for the application. Low noise level; accurate temperature maintenance; good controls. I thought the window installation was very easy; the unit comes with a lot of extra materials for doing the work. I set mine up to be able to remove the unit from the window when not in use. On a hung window I added insulation on either side of the panels (I used short pieces of 1/2" slotted pipe insulation in the window channels), a length of a 1/2" insulation on the bottom and some of the 1/4" insulation that came with the unit between the window and the top of the sliding panels. I also insulated between the two window panels as instructed. Telling this was more time consuming than the actual application. When not in use I simply removed the foam and panels and close the window. One thing that I found a bit tricky was getting the hose to attach to the panel opening once the panels were in place. It's just a tight fit. So I removed the panel with the opening for the hose, attached the hose then reinstalled. When not in use I just leave that panel attached to the hose.It is a powerful unit. I think the only downside from my perspective is that this unit is very big and requires considerable space. It is also heavy and difficult to move over carpeting. I have not needed any service for it so far so I can't comment on the manufacture's warranty & service.

Very disappointed….You will need duct tape to keep it together!
The media could not be loaded. This is what a $649 air conditioner looks like! The unit itself is really nice but what’s the point if the entire product doesn’t meet high quality standards? Midea dropped the ball when finishing this design and quality is very poor. Very cheap plastic parts & do not stay together. As you can see in the pictures, I am using duct tape to hold it together & is unacceptable. Also, the venting hose is a monster and should allow for five more feet so people can move the unit & accommodate more consumers. Overall, the unit is quiet and cold. They should have SELF EVAPORATING TECHNOLOGY because having to move this and empty is going to be a huge pain. In fact, their customer service rep explained only having to empty the bucket and made it sound like it was a removable piece. Instead, this will have to be lifted to allow for a hose to drain out. Unbelievable! I wish the other manufacturer didn’t ruin their design by not offering black, they also made a couple other changes but on the whole, their unit is better and worth having self evaporating technology. I am so frustrated with the attachment parts and took hours to put in & could only get this to stay together with tape! Stupid

If You're On the Fence, Buy It
I wish I had bought this unit seasons before I did. It is superior to a one hose unit in every way possible. 1. It doesn't create an air pressure vacuum in the room. I can shut the door with ease. I don't feel air being sucked in through every crack, crevice and window. 2. The hoses are housed in a covering that doesn't get hot. 3. The ease and speed with which it is able to cool the room is incredible. 4. Using the app to control it is suuuper easy and much better than looking around for a remote (though it does come with one). 5. The vent / swing is designed in a way that it puts out way more air than past units I've had. 6. The parts used to create the window covering around the two hoses is all superior to past units I've had. It's a strong metal instead of plastic and I feel that helps a lot with preventing air leakage. I love how it slowly ramps up from start to fully blasting instead of abruptly slamming on. There is a slight buzzing sound at times- but I've gotten used to it and to be honest if that's the only con for all of the pros I'm getting...I'm okay with that. I overheat VERY easily and I've never had my bedroom be this cool without having to seal it up like a biodome...and even then the units I had were working 24/7 to keep it cool whereas the Midea dual hose seems to be able to do it fairly quickly and then turn off. Also my electric bill is still low / reasonable. So yes, the hype about a dual hose is real. They are superior in every way and this unit in particular is obviously well designed and made with high quality materials. I spent a lot of time researching portable AC's and sat on the fence for too long over whether to go with a dual hose. I had probably been using the unit for less than ten minutes before I knew I had made the right decision to invest in this unit.
