Bought for my granddaughter for her trip to Norway. Said she found it very useful.

I bought this because it got better reviews than the equivalent Rough Guide. However quite disappointed with the lack of pictures, I would really appreciate a lot more. I also find the maps very basic and therefore difficult to plan routes. I think with universal Internet use these days, there's not really any need to exhaustively list restaurants, accommodation etc. I would prefer suggested walking itineraries around cities and pictures to inspire me. We've ended up buying an old book on visiting oslo and bergen, which does just this and in my opinion gives a much better flavour of the country.

Very thorough guide for the cities and towns with an emphasis on the independent traveler. Very good for hikers and bikers. Lots of detailed maps.

The book has very valuable information on Norway. A must-have book to get insights about Norway.

This book was purchased for a recent coastal cruise of Norway and provided a nice companion to the journey. Hardly anyone seems to carry actual printed books for travel these days but I still like using them, and Lonely Planet books are generally the best option, packed with reliable information based on their authors' personal experience rather than taken from suppliers' advertising.
