My Microwave is fixed, avoided several hundred $$ repair. Seems good quality part.
FIXED MY MICROWAVE!I was happy to discover, like other reviewers, that the received magnetron was labelled as from LG and "made in Korea" (vs some China or no name). I do slighly worry about the code that has a prefix of '2012' (is this magnetron really 13 years old?), however, after installation everything worked perfectly. My microwave is an GE Profile JE1860GB. It was manufacturered in 2001 and came with the house. So yea, good job GE..this product lasted 24 years! I am happy that this part resolved my failure, as since this microwave is long discontinued if the repair was unsuccesful I'd be forced to purchase a new microwave + a new installation kit (why cant they keep them common?).. or pay a repair guy. Either option is several, several hundred dollars.Unfortunately, like always, when the microwave failed (would turn on, interior light ON, rotate the food -- simply just wont heat) at an in-opportune time. Since the food was not heating, the most likely culprit is the magnetron. The swap itself is easy, although take care to discharge the High Voltage capactitor using an insulated set of pliers. My microwave does have a bleeder resistor -- but, you can never be to safe.Oh yes, also check your microwave case for security screws; they are torx bits with a center nib. Lucky for me, I had a set of bits that handled those no problem. If you dont have these, you can prob use pliers or simply buy an inexpensive set.Removal of the magnetron is straightforward; it's held in by 5 screws and one pull out (main) connector. The new unit swapped perfectly into the olds spot. Functionality restored!Pictures show BEFORE (my old magnetron) and AFTER (new magnetron).I cant yet say if this magnetron will last as long (24 years?) as my original. We'll see.Good job Suzier and Amazon on having this part available at a reasonable cost and quick (1 day) delivery! This is why I keep coming back to Amazon!

TEN STARS!! Perfect and easy!
The media could not be loaded. I saw another parts website try to sell this megatron for over $185! This is an amazing deal, made in Korea. My old built in KitchenAid microwave quit working and replacing it would have been $600 easy for a new one with a trim package. But the new ones don’t fit the built in hole so I had to try to fix it. YouTube and Amazon to the rescue! Easy installation! Follow safety guidelines and discharge the microwave before taking out the old megatron. I want to thank God for whoever is selling this online. It was causing me so much stress bc it was for a high end rental with people coming. Great price, perfect packaging, on time delivery! If your microwave has lights but won’t heat up, try replacing the megatron here for less than $50!

It works! Kenmore Microwave 721.80012401. Looks like previously used?
***I'm only giving this 4 stars, because it looks like new Magnetron was previously installed; there were obvious screw marks around mounting holes and electrical terminals were obviously once connected. Maybe this was done in factory for quality check??-POSITIVE REVIEW BELOW-My old year 2005 Kenmore Over-The-Range Microwave now heats again great and is very quiet when running. Before new Magnetron it would work, as normal, except wouldn't heat. It also sounded funny, which I believe was loose Magnetron cooling fins vibrating. My experience was:1) I fully tested all Microwave components using Digital Multi-Meter, which showed all parts were within limits, including my existing Magnetron; however, my existing Magnetron had loose fins. All Microwave service manuals I read, said if all components are within spec and Microwave still doesn't heat, then REPLACE MAGNETRON.2) I purchased this LG 2M246 050GF (same as existing); it was delivered quickly and showed up in nice, safe packaging. I unpackaged it and was happy it was exact same model.3) I installed new Magnetron in unit and re-attached all High-Voltage components. I placed 1 liter of water in thick glass mug and ran Microwave on full-power for 2 minutes. From very beginning Microwave sounded like new and at end of cycle water was very hot.4) I also purchased a Microwave Leakage Detector to verify no dangerous radiation; maximum amount it showed was about 2 Mw/cm^2 right next to Magnetron (i.e., with Microwave cover off).I'm very happy and just hope this lasts a few years :)

Don't junk your microwave, fix it!
Got my 19-year-old GE Profile built in microwave working again. Relieved because the modern replacement microwave costs over $700!Pretty easy to install but be sure to discharge the capacitor properly.

Perfect replacement for our Kenmore microwave
After 20 years, I thought our beloved Kenmore microwave oven was headed for the scrap yard. To my amazement, the magnetron that resulted in the demise of the oven is still in use today. I found this model which is the exact OEM part for this oven. It took about 20 minutes to install, and our microwave is once again working like brand new!One safety note here: The capacitors in a microwave oven can store a lethal amount of voltage (even after being disconnected from power). If you are unfamiliar with the process for safely discharging voltage from a capacitor, please leave the job to a professional.
