Wonderful, wonderful textbook for Regression newbie
For 10 years I took different compulsory statistics classes by different teachers at 3 different academic institutions, but I still did not know what was going on. Nothing just clicked and everything was super blurry. I almost gave up on statistics but then I took the class at UMich's ICPSR with Dr Colin Lewis-Beck (the first author of this book) who also recommended this title which I bought, and OH MY GOD everything made sense. I can die happily knowing that I am not hopeless with statistics. Not sure if this book would have worked that well for self-study, so I am stating it very clearly here for the context. But in my situation, this book was superb: well-structured, clearly written, excellently chosen examples. Will this book help me get several publications after reading it? Probably not. Will this book give me a strong foundation in Regression? Absolutely, 10/10. Highly recommended! On a side note, Dr Colin Lewis-Beck is a FANTASTIC instructor. His classes are worth attending every minute, for every single session. He is easily the best statistics instructor I have ever had the opportunity to study from. What's more, he is just a highly approachable and kind person. And he taught our class via Zoom due to COVID-19. VIA ZOOM! Even Zoom can't dull his teaching kungfu. I am not kidding. Also special shoutout to our A+ Teaching Assistant, Mary Mits <3. Kind of irrelevant here but honestly, go take his class, people and you might have fewer statistics-related nightmares. This book: 10/10, his class: 11/10.

Helpful when starting regression analysis
This is such a helpful text to consult when starting regression analysis. This was a required text for a graduate course I took and I actually used it quite a bit! I will be keeping this book for sure.
