The built in gpu is often used for some acceleration in common applications eg encoding. Intel cpus (integrated) while slow have fantastic compatibility and stability. Nothing wrong with getting an external gpu but the built in one is very good for many non gaming scenarios. The question could also be asked should you bother with an external GPU. The answer Is often do you game, and note most folks don't. This cpu isn't really necessary for gaming. It has good productivity capabilities and if your trying to put together the most cost effective gaming system as measured by FPS per dollar there are cheaper options. And by the way if you use multiple monitors you can use both. I see little down side in most cases. It might be another matter if you were a single monitor set up, and never going to use it. But that's often not the case and again largely applies to gaming. I'm a dev and often find I make good use of the integrated gpu. It always works with Linux, windows and whatever I am doing without hassle.

God no, it’s literally the same CPU only difference is Intel turned off the internal gpu. Meaning if you don’t have a gpu then you won’t see an image on screen. Make sense?

You're asking two related questions about motherboard specifications. The motherboard's product specifications and/or your motherboard owners manual should tell you explicitly whether or not the motherboard facilitates a cpu with builtin graphics capability. As to your second question, you will not need the builtin graphics capability of a cpu so long as you have a discrete gpu to use in a motherboard PCIE expansion slot. If you don't have a discrete gpu and don't want a discrete gpu, make sure you motherboard supports cpu graphics capability and make sure sure cpu has its own graphics capability--which again refers to checking on the product description or owner's manual.
