Super Bright Continuous Lights!!!
I am working on some Macro B-Roll footage that I'm shooting for a project. I knew that I'd need continuous lighting to get the looks I want. At first I went with GVM 480 LED Bi Color Lights, but I'm battling getting enough light onto my subject for macro work. While I think the GVMs will have some use they are not bright enough for super closeup macro work. I did my research in Lux and Lumens and started searching for lights that spec'd out much higher than 5500 LUX at 40inches.I have a quite a few strobes and speedlights for stills from Godox and they've never let me down, so I immediately searched that brand. The SL100 Bi-Color lights came up at a price I thought couldn't be beat. These spec out at 32000 LUX at 40inches and man are they bright, far brighter than the GVMs. The posted photos of light meter readings demonstrate just how much brighter the Godox Lights are. At ISO100 and a shutter speed of 60 (in case I want to slow my B-Roll Down) I'm measuring at f/25 on my light meter; about 24 inches from the OBC at 100% brightness. At the same distance the GVM lights on full brightness only achieve f/5.0.While I still need to put the Godox Lights through it's paces; reshooting my b-roll, I'm fairly confident that this will solve the issues I was having. Not sure I'll use the App or bluetooth connectivity but it's nice to know it's three. Temp Readouts and Brightness on the back of the lights so you can white balance and dial in brightness. While two of these lights are almost double the price of the GVM kit, I went ahead and picked up two for the sake of playing with lighting styles and ratios. Still less than $400 for the two lights is not that bad. Bonus points for the Godox lights having Bowens mounts so I can use existing modifiers.I do wish these were battery powered but considering how bright the are, I'm guess they'd chew through batteries pretty quickly.

Great little constant light!
The media could not be loaded. Works great for small and medium video projects!
