Works like a charm.
Very easy to install following videos on YouTube. Price on Amazon for an OEM quality product was much better than other sources. Works great. Delivery took too long.

Fit Well and Works perfectly
Bought this OEM icemaker to replace the icemaker in my LG LFX28978ST. My original tray started overflowing because it didn't have enough power to empty the tray once the cubes were frozen, so it would rotate back and try to fill the already full tray with water again, causing a nice big puddle of water on the floor. Watched a 8 minute video step-by-step instructional video on Youtube and decided to try to install myself versus paying about $100 more for the part and at least $200-$250 for a appliance repairman to come to my house to do it.The removal and install took about 20-25 minutes, as I went slowly to make sure I followed all steps properly. The toughest part was getting the plug-in adapters to release, but not a big deal. Put everything in place, hit the reset button and the tray filled immediately. A couple of hours later we had ice again. It has worked flawlessly for the last 3 days. The ice cubes are only slightly smaller than the original tray. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a new icemaker. I would also recommend you try to install yourself as it is not overly difficult at all and you only need a single phillips-head screwdriver.

Wire harness does not fit despite assurances !
Even after asking if the ice maker wire harness fit my LG model LFX25974SB refrigerator, and being assurred that it did, it did NOT! Waste of my time and the seller's time. Just be honest up front!

Perfect fit and function, revised design from original I had that was from 2011 that failed.
NOTE: THIS IS THE 6 WIRE (10-PIN PLUG) VERSION, NOT THE 3 WIRE VERSION. THAT IS A DIFFERENT PART NUMBER THAN AEQ73110205. The description doesn't mention that there are two identical versions that have different connectors. So check your connector first. You will have to remove the whole panel that the ice maker is mounted to with the three wide gray screws and the one at the top center which has a big plastic washer on it. The whole unit will pull out and forward. Disconnect the big plug, and turn the unit over. On the back, under the tape, is the plug where the ice maker connects to the rest of the unit. This model has the 6 wire/10 pin connector. Some models have only a 3 wire connection there, and if you have that, this is not the part for you.Anyway, the review...My original from 2011 failed after having lots of issues for the last year. Turns out, the plastic worm gear inside the motor/gear housing connected to the motor shaft had ground itself to pieces trying to return the tray to normal position when dumping. The temperature sensor wire for the original ran down the side and under the tray, periodically causing it to bind the tray in the dumped position. This new revised model has the temp sensor wire routed through the pivot on the right side, instead of just hanging down on the left between the motor and tray. This removes the binding issue.Hopefully it will last at least as long as the original. Or I guess I should say originals, as the lower one has failed too, but it seems these only last about 5 years, maybe a little longer if you're lucky.Either way, it was a perfect fit and took about ten min to install and works smoothly and efficiently.

wiring was difficult
Ok so I had to replace my LG refrigerator door ice maker. I bought this one and there was no instructions in the box. I also noticed that the wires that came with this new ice maker was not the same as the ones from the broken ice maker even though it was the same model. So I had to disassemble the broken ice maker and take the wires from it and reassemble the wires to the new ice maker. It was somewhat difficult but I managed it and now it works fine.

Easy fix for LFX28978ST00 ice maker problems.
As the original ice maker plastic tray ages it sometimes does not release the iceincreasing the twisting resistance and causing additional stresses on right end of the tray support causing the plastic support structure to crack and eventually break. See picture. It was difficult to feel confident that this was the correct replacement for my refridgerator. Other sites showed this part as a substitute part for the original one. The Amazon page for this part number requests that you "Make sure this fits: enter model number". The response was "We're not sure this item fits your: LG LFX28978ST00". Fortunately, several reviewers confirmed that this was the correct part for their LG LFX28978ST00.So I somewhat trepidly ordered it and it arrived in a few days. In comparingthe new assembly to the old one there were a few differences. The right end ofthe tray support was structured differently; it seemed to be thicker in thearea where the old one had broken.Several videos on replacing the ice maker can be found on the web. I found it easiest to remove the panel to which the ice maker is attached. It's secured by 4 screws; 2 on the bottom near the chute to the exterior, 1 in the middle back, and 1 just above the ice maker assembly slightly left of center. Then as you pull this panel away, there is a wiring plug connecting the ice assembly that you're removing to the door. Press the tab to release the plug, see the picture. The new ice maker has been working for about 2 weeks.

Not compatible with my LG LFX25974ST
I don't know if there are different ice makers that fit with the LG LFX25974ST, as this listing has this fridge listed first, but it does not fit my fridge.
