Adjustable range of the push rod length checker is 6.80" to 7.80"

I was hesitant to purchase this rod length checker because I saw where some said it was rusted and was stuck when trying to adjust. I found none of those things the case with what I received. It is in excellent condition and works well. Not quite as good as one I have from Comp Cams, but close. Would buy this over a Comp Cams checker due to the price and quality. Just cannot beat it.

I needed something to measure a rod that was about 7.850, I took my chances with this one. Turns out this thing goes to nearly 8". So it worked perfect.

First off, this is not black oxide steel, its just black paint. Makes it easy to scribe a line though for measuring turns. Doesn't seem to be the same .050" per turn like normal length checkers, as its 24 turns to go from 6.8" to 7.8". At .050 per turn, 24 turns should be 8.0". It is stout enough to also check PTV clearance with normal valve springs installed, though.

Works ok for what its intended for but the threads are not accurately machined, and the alignment mark does not reflect a known length/distance each rotation. You will need to measure this with a separate tool for accurate length. I would not use this in a shop setting.

a nice solid tool. i have no doubt it will preform great when i get to the point of using it.
