Wow! Great product.
I’m very impressed with how well this Makita radio works. I personally think it has great sound, and it has a feature for boosting the sound and have no problems with volume on a.m., FM, or Bluetooth. It connects up via Bluetooth quite easily and the radio reception for both a.m. and FM are excellent. I’m not sure what makes it so heavy but I gotta say it is a heavy beast and without question looks to be very durable. The charging brick was a surprise to me as I thought. The charging apparatus would be internal to the radio and seems heavy enough that it should’ve been but that’s OK. I wouldn’t mind a cord, but the external charging brick is a bit much but it does wrap up nicely and then hook to the back of the radio, but the radio itself as I mentioned is quite heavy alone, much less adding that brick to it, I would like more preset buttons or capability. In a separate scanning button would be nice versus holding the tuning dial in for a few seconds.

It's all about the bass
My Makita charger died, and when I went to buy one I saw this plays and charges batteries at the same time, so for a little extra (covered by Amazon points via cc) I purchased this. While my batteries charge I get to hook my hifi walker to it and listen to my playlist. Great sound, better bass, and portable.Really happy with it.

Dissapointed
The volume is not stable and varies on radio and bluetooth, almost like there is a self equalizer or something. The "Charging aspect is a joke.. they want you to lug around a GIANT power brick thats 1/4 the size of the radio.. I don't see how this couldn't of been build in honestly. The build quality is very good and the interface is nice. Honestly, I overpaid at 225.

Way better than DeWalt
4 years I would buy DeWalt tools only and they used to be good tools but the last several years I consider them junk as I went through four radios in lesson 8 years Makita is what I've been switching over to I am very happy with the quality of their tools and this is a very nice radio so if you have any thoughts on DeWalt or Makita Makita is the way to go

Works well but is very heavy.
The Makita XRM10 case appears to be rugged and the sound quality is very good considering the speaker size. The fact that this unit has Bluetooth and can charge a Makita 18 volt battery were the deciding factors for my purchase. As other reviews point out, this unit is very heavy at 13,2 lbs. and the external power brick is awkward. Especially the way that it attaches to the case when transporting. Those issues aside, this is a great addition to my Makita tool collection.

Very nice portable blue tooth radio
This radio sounds good, I don’t find it to be super loud but it is good and clear and works for my needs. I like that it has AM and FM plus bluetooth capable, thats sweet.
