It's cool
I love it but the light doesn't last long.

Good light, right price, kind of a no-brainer.
Bought this light to go onto a new pistol I had acquired with a rail. The multiple keys, lumens of output, and strobe feature were what drew me to the product. Streamlight has a good reputation as a quality manufacturer and I have some experience with some of their hand-held flashlights, so I figured this was pretty much a no-brainer.The details of this product are defined in its description and in many reviews before mine, so no point in beating a dead horse. Let me try to illuminate a couple of basic things that may or may not affect you: opening the battery compartment is pretty easy, now, with the new latch. You just pull/push it all the way until it goes about 180 degrees and the thing pops open all on its own. I suppose this is a new design compared to the many complaints about tight latches from before. First time I've had one of these, so I can't really say. The multiple keys are nice, in case you have multiple weapons with rails that you're trying to attach this thing to and hadn't planned ahead. Really, one should just try to have all of the same rail so these are more easily switched in any case.Unfortunately for me, I didn't look into this particular thing when I bought this. I bought a 1911 pistol that basically uses an STI frame, which uses some kind of slightly odd size rail. It seems to fit the glock key, but not well, as the glock key seems a bit tall. I had made the assumption, incorrectly, that the rail was a 1913 rail. This was entirely my fault, not Streamlight's, but I would like to see more than the four keys that seem to be available for this thing. A few small adjustments to this glock key should get me straightened out, as it currently will not sit on my pistol for longer than a few shots.I would have preferred a more solid mounting for the rail, in general, rather than the quick-on/off idea that seems to be behind this type of rail. I'd rather have to pry it off with a couple of tools and be sure its on there than be able to switch it around a lot... and that would be my only real source of discontent with this product. The strobe works pretty easily, though what actual tactical effect it might have is theoretical to me. I just bought this for the higher lumens of output compared to the standard TLR-1 and figured if it was useful, it would be nice to have, but wouldn't hurt me too much either way since I wouldn't be depending on it. Bought this for my night-stand pistol, and there are a few nice holsters that will fit the 1911 + TLR-1 combo well if you're inclined that way. I bought one just to have one and in case it is ever allowed as a duty weapon. I'd say I'm pretty happy with it, and as soon as I figure out this rail fit thing, I'm sure I'll get rid of that one little dissatisfaction as well. Overall, can't knock the product, just make sure your rail will fit one of the keys.*********************************************************Okay, so I've now owned this thing for awhile. Today is 11/13/13.The light is still going strong. My previous problem with the quick attach/detach option was that the light didn't fit that pistol correctly. I have since put it on a CZ SP-01 using the 1913 rail key. You are supposed to use a coin or most anything wide and flat to tighten the locking mechanism all the way. When the key actually fits, and you do this, the light stays on there all day. I haven't had it move since I figured this basic thing out and got less stubborn about it sitting on my odd-ball pistol rail.I highly recommend this as a weapon light. It works great. The few extra bucks for the extra lumens of light seem worth it. The strobe isn't easy to leave on in the constant mode, but works well in the temporary mode, which I gather is the most desirable use. It was neat to play with, but I don't see the point for your average person. Upgraded my review to 5 stars.

Pay Once Cry Once
Stop buying crap and get this at minimum. If you are trusting your life to a quality weapon; attach a quality light. No; not all of their products are made in this USA and that's a bummer. But even Surefire uses globally sourced parts and assembles them here. So chill out surefire snobs; your not special, just wealthy. This light has stood up to the test and is still rocking. If you have one you have none, if you have two you have one. With that being said they will replace the lens if you shoot soooooo many rounds it clouds permanently or you smash it in. Having an extra lens and battery door is basic practice for anyone that doesn't like waiting on someone else to get the job done. Especially if no one is coming to help, even Amazon đ

Streamlight is it for me!
*Weapon is safe and unloaded*Iâm extremely impressed with the customer service of Streamlight. If youâre looking for a review from a person that REALLY runs their gear, look no further. I was recently doing an urban combat course, it was pretty rigorous. I was climbing an obstacle and fell, with the majority of the impact landing onto the TLR-1. The weapon fell between my body, and concrete. I crushed the face cover, as you can see in the photo. The quality aspect comes from the fact that the LIGHT STILL RAN. I couldnât believe it could take that type of abuse and still operate. I completed the course with a crushed light, without issue. What impresses me with Streamlight, is the fact that this accident was 100% my fault. I told a representative at Streamlight about the incident, and offered to purchase a new face for my light. The representative sent me one, free or charge. She said: âWe want to make sure our products work, all the time.â⌠I was blown away. 3 days later, and I had the part. Good as new. I was so happy with the service that I bought a couple more to add to my course, and duty pistols. The light itself is bright enough to get the job done. The switches allow for you to manipulate the light by âsweepingâ your trigger finger either up or down. One direction is a constant on. The other is a âhold to activateâ⌠this makes it so you can flash an area and go âlight offâ again just by releasing your finger. Itâs great to gain a quick advantage without revealing your position too much. The âconstant onâ selection stays put, and keeps the light activated during rapid fire, drops (haha) and day-to-day drills. The light is rugged, and survives strenuous work. My first TLR-1 was attached to one of my pistols, and it has held for well over 10,000 rounds without issue. A quick few turns, releases the light, so you can mount it on just about anything. The illumination and field of view within the beams parameter is outstanding. The outside portion of your natural point of aim also stays brighter, giving you a good view of possible targets in the corners, away from the light. Now, that being said⌠do yourself a favor and save some money in the long run by buying yourself a couple sets of rechargeable batteries, and a charger. Itâll save you a ton of grief. This light really is quite impressive. And as a person who works on range, and shoots four times a week⌠I recommend you try it.
