Little House 4-Book Box Set: Little House in the Big Woods, Farmer Boy, Little House on the Prairie, On the Banks of Plum Creek Paperback – Illustrated, October 25, 2016

As a child, my dad read us books from his collection such as Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens. I remember my third grade teacher read the class Little House in the Big Woods. I anticipated every day of going back. I went home after she read the story describing Laura's tree house and asked my dad, "Will you make a swing for me and Linda in the trees?" He said, "Good idea." I have sentimental memories of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I always wanted to read more of her stories. I could never have children, I put off walking into a bookstore, taking a potential risk of being asked by a cashier, "Do you have a daughter?" I recently went on Amazon to buy books and typed in her name in the search. I sought used paperbacks I am going to put wear on for $2.50 each in a set of four. I'm an artist, so I cried. Not only had I hit the Laura Ingalls Wilder jackpot but the Garth Williams illustrations are beautifully hand-drawn.There's a bit of shelf wear but they came in the condition I expected, well-loved. It was a deal I was satisfied with.Laura Ingalls Wilder's characters are vivid and her stories are relatable. It doesn't matter your age. If you've ever made a tree house, thought deer were too cute to eat, or been bitten by yellow jackets...you'll want more.

I bought these for a Christmas gift for my 8 yr old granddaughter. She loved them. Would definitely recommend these books. They were age appropriate. I liked that the set comes in it’s own box too.

Really fun read! My 6 year old daughter & I just completed the first book of this series. It's a wonderful way of learning about life in America during the Frontier. My daughter had so many great questions & learned so much. She dressed herself up as if she was in this time period. She joined 3 of her friends for book club. We brought the snow candy/maple syrup & our version of hasty pudding (farina) & one of her friends showed everyone how to make a rag doll. They also made butter by shaking whipped cream in a jar. They did this while jumping on a trampoline. So we were able to compare modern day to the frontier times just based on that experience. They spread the butter on the jack cakes another friend made & gobbled it down with delight. We look forward to reading the next book, Farmer Book & seeing what creations will come out of that! Enjoy!!!

Great classic book set in a nice box to keep them for years to come!

I love the Little House books. I grew up reading them, and I wanted to have them in my home for my kids to read as well. I still enjoy these books as an adult. I was very happy with the price and quality of this little book set.
