Update: I tried installing it upside down. The shape of the vents in this car makes it so the base of this mount was hitting the bottom edge of the vent area and would not allow it to be tightened. But I flipped it over so I hooked the vent from underneath. There is more space above the blade of the vent, so I was able to tighten it and it held my phone perfectly fine during a test drive.This item is well made and the magnets on it are very strong. It just does not fit my car. And to be helpful, unlike every review here, I will tell you the make and model of car so you’ll know it won’t work if you have the same. Scion FRS/ Toyota GT86/ Subaru BRZ. The product clips onto the vent ok but it can’t be tightened because the base of the product is too big for the vents in these cars which are small. So it was basically loose and falls right off.Sure would be nice if all the reviewers stating that it works great would say what kind of car they have. Seems like common sense.

I gave this little vent‑clip mount a shake‑down on a weekend road trip, and the first thing that impressed me was the magnet: it snaps an iPhone 16 into place with a satisfying thunk and never let go, even over pothole‑pocked backroads. The steel hook clamp feels more secure than the usual spring‑loaded claws I’ve tried, and installation took less than a minute—loosen the knob, slide the hook behind the vent blade, tighten until snug. Because the arm pushes the phone a few inches away from the louvers, I can still nudge plenty of air around the cabin and easily swivel the screen toward the driver’s seat without blocking the whole vent face.Living with it day‑to‑day, a few quirks surfaced. On rough pavement the phone bounces slightly more than mounts that park it flat against the vent, a trade‑off for that handy extension arm. And while the hook system is rock‑solid on horizontal or vertical slats, it’s a non‑starter for circular vents and anything thicker than about an eighth of an inch—worth double‑checking before you click “Buy Now.” I also discovered that pulling the phone straight off the magnet can yank the vent fin if you’re not gentle; sliding it sideways works much better and spares the plastic blades.Overall, though, this is the first MagSafe holder I’ve kept in place longer than a week. It frees up my cup holder, angles easily for navigation, and looks clean and low‑profile on the dash. At roughly thirteen bucks on sale, it punches well above its price class—just remember to pair it with a MagSafe case (or the included metal ring) if you’re rocking an older or non‑Apple device. Minor jiggle aside, it’s become one of those small car upgrades that I miss the second I drive without it.

This thing is great! I have an old car and do not have carplay. Magsafe is one of the greatest inventions and this makes it so easy to snap my phone into the car to use GPS and audio apps. This frees up one of my cupholders as well. Make sure you pay attention to what air vents it works with. I was worried about clipping it to my vent, but it works very well, is very sturdy, and I can angle the phone out of the way so it doesn't block too much air from that vent. It does prevent me from angling the vent side-to-side, but I can still aim it up and down.

It wouldn’t fit my vents in my 23 Trailblazer when installed correctly. When I would tighten it, it would just fall off. I flipped the attachment over and hooked it from the bottom and so far it has stayed on. The magnetic part is great. I should’ve read a little bit more before I purchased lol

Fit in and clamps securely in place on vent. Does block some of the air flow thru the vent as was expected. Overall works well for securing my cell phone in place so I can see maps app directions to new destinations. Removing phone from holder is best accomplished by sliding phone on holder. Very difficult to pull off tugging straight off of mount

Used on a 2013 Highlander. Sits a little high, even on the lowest louvre. Protrudes about 1 1/4” from the louvre which seems a little long but not bad. The magnet is very strong and the kit came with everything you need to adapt this to your phone case and car. I would definitely buy this again.

I had purchased several vent mount phone holders prior to purchasing this one. This one is a win! It stays mounted to the vents without flopping around. The magnet is strong, but not so strong it feels like it will break when the phone is removed. It will hold the phone horizontally or vertical without slipping. Worth it!

GREAT phone holder, it works so good with magsafe cases/magnets. i love that it actually hooks around the vent making it super secure and sturdy while on the road. it’s also adjustable so it should fit most vents! total life saver for roadtrips and 100% worth the money. 10/10 would buy again!
