OtterBox Symmetry Series Hybrid Case for Samsung Galaxy J7 and J7 V - Black

It took me a while to review this product because I wasn't willing to openly abuse the phone the way that I did with the Defender. I didn't have the confidence in this model that I did with the Defender that had on my S3. With the Defender I was a walking, talking infomercial for Otterbox products, openly dropping the phone on hard surfaces, throwing it across the room to prove how tough it was. Especially to my sister-in-law who has easily cracked a half-dozen screens;-) Well, I forgot the old S3 along with my trusty Otterbox Defender on the roof of my wife's car, and let's just say that I now have a Samsung Galaxy SkyPro J7. I found out pretty quickly that Otterbox doesn't make a Defender for the new model of phone, and I was left with this one. The reviews that I read on the Symmetry, and how it was designed and constructed didn't inspire as much confidence and I suddenly stopped demonstrating how tough Otterbox's products were. It finally happened, I dropped the phone down on to the pavement from a height of 4.5 to 5', and it hit vertical and right on the corner of the case. I picked it, hit the prompt button, and all was well! And I did the exact same thing a couple days later, it passed the test, A+, give it 5 stars. Some have a made a big deal about this case not having a screen protector, but let me say this, a tempered glass screen protector is way better than the cheesy piece of plastic that comes on the Defender. After 2.5 years of use, the plastic screen protector was scratched, gouged, and pretty beat up looking. You could see through just fine, but turn it, and the damage was really noticeable. Tempered glass gets beat up, just replace it and move along smartly, you can't do that with the Defender. This case is way better ergonomically than is a Defender, not nearly as big and clunky, not sure if it's as tough, but that and the tempered glass screen cover make this a tough combination to beat.

Very happy with OtterBox cases. Over the years I have bought several for my phones and always use them exclusively. They are well made and definitely protect your phone very well

Phone fell out of my pocket (without my knowledge), and what happened next I am speculating. Someone found my phone by the road and called my mom to return it. I was in a school parking lot but they said they found it by the road, so I'm thinking it fell and landed on the running board. It must have flown off the running board when I turned the corner, slid on the asphalt and that's where someone found it. Phone case is BEAT UP, but phone still works! I continued to use the case and I'm just now replacing it (4 months later). I highly recommend this case.

I bot this product for my Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime phone the original case that it came with. Started to come apart. And that is when I decided to purchase the OtterBox Case. The case fits just fine. And it was the case I was looking to get a few years back. Now that I have the case I am very pleased with it.

This is my favorite case. It took a little bit for the buttons to get flexible. However, it has already saved my phone twice!

I needed a new case because my old one was breaking apart. I was worried that I would have to cut around the jack for my earphones to fit but this one has a large opening around the jack so that ALL of my headphones will plug in without having to trim around the hole (which is why my old case broke there). Looks great too! Super happy with this purchase!

These cases aren't going to win any awards for being stylish but that's cool! Usually looking good and great protection don't go together anyway. Got this case for a Samsung Galaxy Halo and it fits perfectly. It's a one piece case that's easy to slip on and off of the phone. It's currently being used with a tempered glass protector and it hasn't interfered or caused the protector to shift. This case is a bit thick so if you want something that doesn't add a little bulk, you probably want to look at something different. This case seems well made with enough cushion to keep your phone protected. Already had one mishap while tossing the phone on to the bed where it bounced off and landed on the wood floor. Both phone and case were good.
