I had heard great things about this program. However, I feel much of that is hype. It didn't appear to be any better than the less expensive handwriting programs out there.

I used handwriting without tears years ago as a teacher in a preschool class. I found the kids loved it and the step by step instructions covered everything from how to hold the pencil to what strokes to use to write each letter. It was a no brainer for me to add this to the curriculum of the Early learning Facility I now run. From 3-5 years old, it is a must have!

As a homeshooling Mom who dreaded teaching writing, this guide has been eyeopening to say the least. It has really helped me with so many things that are not covered in the student's workbook. Tips and tricks on how to help your student with posture, working with the manipulations, the activities associated with teaching, and so many other valuable things. I highly recommend the teachers guide along with the CD and the manipulations. It makes the whole experience very fun!If you only get the student's workbook, you are missing out on the rest of the curriculum - it's the rest that makes it fun and easy to learn. Otherwise, you're just teaching boring old writing.

There is nothing wrong with this book, but I found it to be pretty unnecessary for homeschooling my son. I can see that it would be good for a classroom teacher or as a bundle with the other material suggested in the book.

My 3 y/o reads well, so expected writing to be the same, much as it was for my older kiddos. Thought I would try this alternative method for writing with my little man as the reviews seemed glowing in spite of knowing that other systems work. What a disappointment. Went back to tried-and-true method and regret this purchase. It isn't terribly intuitive, at least for me or my kiddo. Just a fail.
