Great Saw! But missing parts.
This saw is amazing. Lots of power. Only complaint I have is that it was supposed to have a blade and wrench in the box but both were missing. Hopefully the seller would be willing to send them to me if they read this.

Full sized, full power!
I'm very happy with my choice. I always prefer worm drive, but the last time I looked, Makita only had a 6-1/2" cordless worm drive. This saw is 7-1/4". Excellent saw.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! BUY!!!
Bought for my brother who is building home off the grid. It is an excellent saw, power, holds charge, and nice even weight distribution and balance. Goodbye cord, old worm drive users will love this cordless beast! If on the fence about it, buy it , will not be disappointed. I thought all Makita sponsored reviewers were sales ads, so took with a little salt, while # os cuts is really about 2/3rds as advertised, still plenty of power to last most of day on job sites. Every contactor should invest in these. Really a game changer. Will replace corded saws. Worm drive users will love it, sidewinder users will love it but not used to the weight, which is slightly lighter than my old worm. GREAT saw!!!! Thanks Makita finally a cordless saw that can be called a SAW!

As contractor, my husband is really pleased with this saw
My husband is a contractor. We lost our shop and all of our tools in a wildfire last fall. He previously owned Milwaukee battery tools. He decided to try Makita this time around. I ordered this and he thought it might be a bit heavy. As it turned out he's very pleased. Likes the way it handles and cuts. Battery life is good. Weight isn't a problem. On the downside, he dislikes the safety button. He has short stubby hands and finds it difficult to push the button along with the power trigger to run the saw. Other than that he loves it and is happy with the purchase!

Yay!- a cordless worm drive
This tool is great. It seems About the same weight as my Skilsaw Mag 77 but- it is super awesome that it’s cordless. It’s got much more power than other cordless saws, still no battery tool currently can deliver the performance of 120V. I love Makita tools, this one is now my go-to daily saw because it’s soooo f$&*#% sweet to be without the cord. In a situation where I was making several cuts and an outlet/cord is nearby I would still prefer the Mag 77 as it has been my fav for years: nothing matches the power, feel, and stability. The Makita cordless worm drive is amazing, I strongly suggest purchasing one. It’s especially practical if you have other Makita 18v tools- also if you factor in the price of the charger and batteries the saw is extremely affordable.

Why did I wait so long?
Ok, building trade professional for 33 years. I have been running makita cordless tools since the first cordless drills came out. I have been running the higher rpm 6.5” cordless saw for a while and have been making it work. I decided to give the 7 1/4” a try and wow! Not sure why I waited so long. This saw is well balanced and cuts like butter. I have ripped down 4x lumber and the saw seems like its not even breaking a sweat. Its paired with the makita 71/4” 24 tooth blade and its just awesome. I have been in the game too long to get excited about new tools, but this saw really cuts it. Very happy with this purchase, and should it fall from the roof and get jacked up, I will buy another. Makita nails it again.
