Fox Run 74941 Compost Bin, White Ceramic

This is so perfect for me living alone. I empty it every two or three days to my outside compost; gives me a good reason to get out and walk, at age 85. I, love the small foot print on my counter near the sink.

I was looking for a counter-top compost container. When I switched from one color to white it changed the size of the container. This one is so small that It would not hold even 1 day's worth of kitchen waste. Way too small.

The product itself is just fine. Beware though. Ensure you know what size this is. It's quite small--about a quart. I was looking for a gallon size.

I have compost bin outside in the backyard to use for my gardening. So I used to have a tin compost bin on my kitchen counter to dump my scraps in, but it was a pain my A double S to clean. So I tossed it. And one day I got tired of going out back several times a day with my scraps so I got this. Now it is one evening trip to the bin to dump my scraps. And it is as easy to clean inside and out as any oven glass dish. Except nothing is baked on. So glad I got this. Just be careful not to drop it. I took one star off, because the handle can come off unexpectedly while carrying and if it swings it could drop, break and then you have a real stinky mess.

I had the gallon version of this for years - probably still do somewhere - but I don’t have that kind of counter space anymore so this tiny version is perfect. I line it with a compostable bag. No filter as I empty it before it could smell or attract fruit flies. For everyone griping and giving bad reviews about the size - review your ability to read the description instead of just looking at pictures. It clearly states the dimensions.

This mini ceramic composter is just that, a mini version of the larger counter sized ones. I purchased this for an alternate use and not composting. If you purchase this for composting, keep in mind it's a good small apartment counter size and not suitable for a household of more than one, or for more than a days worth of scraps unless emptied frequently. Other than size, it functions just like the full size ones, but does not include carbon filters.It also works perfectly for cat litter waste bags, to cut down on bag waste. The biodegradeable pet waste bags are too large and wasteful to throw away every time my cat pees! (I clean his litter as he uses the box). Pet waste bags fit perfectly in this mini composter, which holds an entire day of urine clumps for one cat with zero smell. While the recent waste bags I purchased turned out to be scented, I prefer to throw away solids and do not keep them in the composter.

Ha! How can I be mad at you compost bin? You’re so tiny cute? Do you fit 3 carrot peels and an apple core? Better empty you before you fill up. Maybe a cutie peel or 2 if I cram...
