Brilliant for Home Use – Just Follow the Setup Carefully!
As an office manager used to large industrial printers, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a home colour printer but I’ve been really impressed with the HP Smart Tank 7605. It's a fantastic choice for home use if you take your time with the setup, which is straightforward if you’re patient and follow the instructions exactly, even down to removing the bits of internal packing cardboard in the right order. I recommend going straight to the HP website once it’s plugged in, as it’ll walk you through linking it to your Wi-Fi and handle most of the installation with helpful prompts. I also downloaded the app, and can also print direct from my iPhone too.Filling the ink is easy — just press the bottles down firmly until they click into place. Installing the print heads takes a bit of care to make sure they’re facing the right way, but again, the instructions guide you through it. Print quality is great, especially for colour and photos. It’s not lightning-fast (don’t expect office-grade speeds!), and it can be a little noisy and clunky, but for home projects, it does the job beautifully.A few tips:Keep it switched on 24/7 — it uses hardly any energy in standby mode, but this helps it stay updated and prevents the print heads and ink from drying out.Print a page once a week if it’s not in regular use, which stops it from drying out too.I bought the optional 3-year warranty for peace of mind — worth it at the sale price. It’s light enough to move around and compact enough to live happily in a corner of my kitchen. Overall, I’m really pleased. It’s a solid, well-designed printer with refillable ink tanks and smart features that make it a great investment for home use. The ink supplied should last for 6,000 pages and original refills are good value for money.

HP Ink Tank - Quality printing and much less loading of ink cartridges.
Relatively easy to set up.Prints with quality and quickly.I really like the ink tanks. No more expensive ink cartridges that last 1000 pages if your lucky. Ink is much cheaper and looks to be lasting well over 5000 pages. The only thing I don't like, is that there is no single sheet feed. You have to open the tray every time you change paper or want to do a label.

Good printer but colour printing problems
Printer is good and easy to set up (if you follow the instructions). However it won't print in colour from the laptop, only from the app. This problem cannot be solved by adjusting the normal printer settings (e.g. clicking colour rather than black and white in the dialogue box). Looking online this seems to be quite a common and long-standing problem, although I can't find any information from HP on how to resolve it (just from other printer owners, but none of those ideas have worked for me). If it wasn't for this I would give it a 5 star review. WHICH rates this as their top printer choice but with this issue I don't think it justifies that.

Constantly Hangs with Apple Laptop and Tablet
This scanner/printer is not easy to set up although they have tried to be as practical as possible but there’s a lot of bits of cardboard and sticky back plastic to remove and potentially forget to remove, which can cause difficulty. As seems to be the way these days, instructions are online which is a faff and there’s not much help in unpacking the printer etc. in it. It was easy to connect to the internet. The app for using it is useless: it’s clumsy and it’s difficult to access files from your Apple iCloud using Apple iOS. Fortunately apple allows direct printing from Word, Pages, Excel and photos etc. without the need for the app. I must stress how poor this app is; it is really bad for a company as large as HP.The quality of printed photos on Photo Glossy paper is good but not of a professional level.Printing documents is very slow which necessitates the need to change from the default ‘Normal’ setting to ‘Draft’ quality with is a pain to have to do.The printer often jams, its the worst I have known over the last three printers we have had. I know this is often a ‘user error’ but it shouldn’t have to be that complicated for an average user to get it right. The best thing about it is the cost of ink and its very low usage of ink which makes up for a lot of the above. This was a Which best buy (which again leads me to question Which’s reviews, which is another story)!?I would not recommend it.## UPDATE##Further to the above, the printer is consistently failing to print from MacBook Air and iPad. Switching the printer on and off appears the only way to get it to print. Therefore I would definitely not recommend this printer.

Hp quality
Great printer very easy to setup and the ink tanks make it the perfect choice. The print quality of photos are very good crisp and clear. Functionality of the whole printer is great which can’t be faulted with the wireless connectivity causing no problems.

Bad, because you have to connect it to the internet.
This is a brilliant printer/ scanner / copier. It meets the Which best buy / recommend criteria perfectly. Its only downside is that to do anything you have to create an account with HP and have it connected to the internet. That’s a very bad thing. Why does a printer need to be connected to the internet? Instead, having registered my product, they could send me emails about software updates, I could download them if I want to, and apply them if and when I choose. Every device on my network that connects to the internet increases my attack surface, and there is absolutely no reason to connect a printer to the internet.
