Altec Lansing Sonic Boom - Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker with Phone Charger, IP67 Outdoor Speaker, 3 USB Charging Ports, 50 Foot Range & 20 Hours Battery Life

Over the last year, I've purchased 6 or 7 portable speakers from Altec Lansing, for myself and as presents. They've all performed wonderfully and I haven't encountered any issues. I've gotten them in the full range of sizes from the small hand held speakers to this larger sized one. They're well designed and manufactured with quality in mind. This speaker is made with the same high quality. The functionality is what makes it totally worth $130. It easily pairs to my phone and I love that I don't have to be right on top of it for it to change songs or volume. It's got 3 USB ports and 1 aux port that are covered by a waterproof lid, as well as a handy waterproof compartment on the back to protect your phone. The sound is clear with nice bass. It's loud enough that I can use it in my backyard while gardening and still be able to hear it, even when I go around the side of the house. One of the best features this speaker has is that you can use it as a charging station. The ability to do that is huge since playing music on my phone seems to suck the battery quickly. The speaker has really good battery life, but you only get 20 hours out of it, if you're running it at 50% volume and no one is using it as a charging station. If I'm running it at full volume and have 1 phone charging it'll last 10-12 hours, which is still great. It's a very lightweight unit that you can take everywhere and the construction is solid. I'm extremely happy with the performance and I'd definitely purchase this again.

I spent 3 hours trying to pair these. Imagine listening for 3 hours "WELCOME TO ALTEC LANSING" .I must of heard that 2 to 3 times a minute for 3 hours trying to pair these. OMG! everytime I turned these things on I heard the loud voice, WELCOME TO… . I followed BOTH sets of instructions to no avail. YES there are 2 sets of instructions It says to press and hold the power button to pair on master then immediateLy press power and hold power button on unit to be BT connected . HEY GUESS WHAT ! IT TURNS THEM OFF. WHO'D GUESS THAT! I SENT BOTH BACK. OK here's more,Altec Lansing Sonic Boom:-Control lid vidrates something fierce with every deep bass beat. You can't do anything about it except to rip it off but them it won't be waterproof.- It cannot hold my phone- if you use the power adapter you must keep the waterproof cover off allowing water to get into every single port. AND ALL THE PORTS ARE FACING UP TO CATCH EVERY DROP OF WATER ! who the hell designed this.- the ANNOYINGLY LOUD voice when you turn this thing on. THAT! is enough in itself to return this, INSTANTLY. HOW obnoxious, HOW Annoying. JFC!- They have been discontinued by manufacturer. Yet another FALSE STATEMENT in description.Dave C. Stout

This is a fantastic speaker. It put out a lot of bass in the music. I had it set up on a table, and it was literally booming and rattling the table. And that wasn't even at full power. This offers excellent sound quality and loudness. This speaker is of the same high quality as the others. The utility is what makes it well worth the $130 price tag. It effortlessly connects to my phone, and I appreciate that I don't have to be right on top of it to adjust tunes or level. It has three USB connections and one aux connector protected by a waterproof top, as well as a convenient waterproof pocket on the rear to keep your phone safe. The Altec Lansing Sonic Boom is weatherproof, lightweight, and portable, allowing you to listen to the music that defines your life wherever you go. The Sonic boom actually starts the celebration. True wireless pairing requires the connecting of up to two speakers. It have a wireless range of 50 ft.

I'd honestly never really was aware of the brand Alltec before a few months ago but I've been more and more impressed with their products the more I give them a chance. I didn't even realize that an older surround sound system in my house, maybe decades old, is an Alltec, too, and is still holding up pretty well for its age. These newer models still hold the same competency but are definitely upgraded in all the right ways. This model is less flashy than other Bluetooth speakers as it is made for more outdoor use, like barbecuing and working on your yard, and travel, like road trips and camping. It's built rock solid, no fear of this falling apart or getting damaged from occasional bumps and drops. The battery life is very impressive and allows for us to play music for hours and hours on end while working inside or outside. The waterproof function lets us feel a lot safer keeping this nearby when working with hoses or by a pool, though you don't want to pour water or any sort of liquids directly on it. Loud speaker, charging ports, clear sound and built to last. Can't get much better than that and I would expect no less from Altec.

What a great product! The sound quality is perfect. I use for training class presentations/videos. Large conference room and noisy cafeteria (machines) and it is the perfect size. Never have to go above 60 on volume setting.

The speaker has decent sound. I think it is a little bit too pricey though doesn’t knock my socks off and it doesn’t really charge other devices as stated if you leave it plugged in it will distort music playing out of it after the battery is fully charged. it’s OK but I would get a JBL or Bose and or Sony

Broke after 1 year warranty, won't hold a charge. Spent a year thinking I had the wrong cable. Called the support line to try and purchase a new cord directly from the vendor, they gave me the number to their sales department. It ended up being the phone number for a boating company in Connection. Now I'm buying a different brand.
