This is great!
I've been baking a lot of bread during the past year or or. I started with a food processor, then moved to a kitchenaid machine, and now tried using this spiral dough hook instead of the regular c shaped hook, and I am really pleasantly surprised!I do not need to scrape dough from the sides of the bowl any more. Usually I make a dough with 5 cups of flour, and this hook works really well. The dough gets kneaded perfectly and the bowl is easy to clean afterwards. No sticky dough left on the sides or bottom. The hook is very sturdy and very easy to clean. I am very happy with my purchase.

Best Dough ever
This new style of dough hook is greatly recommended. The dough comes together much faster and all the media is mixed unlike the original style that didn't reach the bottom of the bowl. I have the professional 6 qt lift style KitchenAid and it works wonderful.

Fits my old heavy duty 5 quart kitchen aid stand mixer
Make sure you check your mixer for the model number to be able to order the right dough hook for it. I am glad I double checked as I almost ordered the wrong one.It works great. The dough doesn’t ride up the hook like the original. This hook doesn’t leave flour in the bottom of the bowl.I washed it in the top rack in the dish washer. The hook was worth buying.

Good quality and results
I like the material, stainless steel as expected. Also, all the comments about damaging the bowl… it is stated in the specifications that you may have to adjust the height of it.Results? I love the facts that this new shape, spiral instead of hook, doesn’t constantly lift the dough over the top ring. However, it takes a little longer the incorporate properly all the ingredients. At the same time, mixing the dough few extra minute it may actually be a good thing in order to develop a better gluten. Conclusion? Highly recommended. Give it a try.

Beats Kithen aid brand dough hook...
After having three Kitchen aid dough hooks break ( the white cast soft-metal ones...) I decided to try one of these spiral hooks. This product is built to last and works as good, if not better than the original hooks that came with my two mixers. After making a few hundred doughs, I feel this hook is well worth the investment. It's a shame that a company like Kitchen aid doesn't stand behind their accessories, or just make a better-made hook.

Works Great but be Mindful…
I was very excited when I found out I could use a spiral attachment for my 5Qt Artisan Design KitchenAid Mixer. I thought I was relegated to the crappy c hook that came the machine. For the last 3 years I have kneaded dough with that thing and it’s been a total pain. I’d mix the ingredients, let sit, mix, let sit, and repeat the cycle for about an hour before getting the window pane.I have used a friend’s commercial grade machine with a spiral hook and it’s night and day. It takes around 10 minutes for the dough to be ready for the first rise. With this attachment I was able to achieve that on my machine today! I’m very happy about this! The only issue as some others have pointed out is the attachment doesn’t get close enough to the bottom with your machine’s stock setting, so you’ll have to adjust the screw for lowering the attachment height. Otherwise you’ll have unincorporated flour. However you can stop the machine after a few minutes and mix in the rest of the flour with a spatula. But if you’re like me and never really use the other attachments then it’s best to just lower the attachment. There are YouTube videos showing you how to do this on your KitchenAid mixer, it’s very simple. Just remember if you do so, you’ll have to raise the setting back up because the flat beater and whip attachments that came with the machine will bottom out.It feels like a quality part too.Bye bye garbage c hook.

More durable and easier to clean than the original.

Works as it should but...
Make sure you have an adjustable bowl height. I have an older machine and although it still works would be so much better if I could move my bowl up a bit.

Works great on soft doughs, but be extremely careful for thicker or bread doughs.
Works great for softer doughs, but when doing bread doughs, you might run into some issues. For me specifically, my KSM150's motor was struggling / stalling with bread dough. I'd stick to the "C" hook for bread (lower hydration) doughs and the "S" hook for soft rolls or pizza (higher hydration) dough, otherwise you'll end up breaking internal gears or something else.
