Great rack for my hybrid bike with disc breaks
I have a Trek FX2 Hybrid bike with disc brakes. I started to use it to bike commute and got tried of carrying a heavy backpack. This rack fit my bike perfectly and paired with some panniers, my work clothes and my laptop bag hang on my bike rather than on my back.Easy to install and seems solid. I’ve been using it pretty regularly for 6 months and it still looks new.

A bit tricky to install, but very sturdy and pleased with how it turned out.
The instructions that are included with this rack are not the best, or the easiest to understand. We actually watched a few videos online to help us. Although it was much easier to have 2 people helping, one person can do it. But overall we are really pleased with the end result - a super sturdy rear bike rack. We have another bike and will definitely purchase this same rack for that one.

Great rack but confusing branding/sizing
I've had some form of Topeak MTX rack on most of my bikes for 15 years. They make great racks, the bag system is awesome and worth investing in for at least one bag. They'll hold way more than their rated weight in groceries or on tours. This one is a great example of Topeak racks, I have no doubt it'll outlive the bike. But the whole "disc" sizing has me confused. At time of writing this was a couple bucks cheaper than the regular for some reason, and the bike I'm putting it on has discs, so I thought why not?I expected the rack to be quite a bit wider, and it is, but the top part is exactly the same so the wideness doesn't actually help with hauling anything. Plus it has spacers where it connects to the dropout eyelets so the space between the vertical stays isn't any wider than a normal rack, I had to stretch it quite a bit to fit on this bike. You can't just chop off the spacers either, the mounting screws are sunk deep in them. In the end it just looks weird and overly wide compared to the "regular" explorer mtx rack.I'm sure I'll get used to it and none of this detracts from the function of the rack. I might recommend the regular one over this one unless you really need that specific clearance for some reason.

Great Rack
Good rack. Just go slow when installing and don't tighten anything fully until you have it just how you like it.

Pre thread your bolts to verify they run in and out smoothly.
Super well made rack from an established company that I have been usiing for decades. It's almost perfect, but I have one complaint and one design change suggestion. The complaint is that the lower mount points on my rack misaligned one bolt causing crossed threads in the boss on my new bike. Thankfully I was able to remove my rear wheel and send a fresh bolt through from the inside out to clear the threads and finish the installation. The other thing I was going to suggest is to consider widening the rack mount points for the straps that attach to the upper bosses under the bike seat. If the 4 holes just in front of the sliding retention track were widened or if that panel were widened and outer holes were added, it would solve my issue. This rack is for a wider bike with disc brakes. I bet there are many other people thinking the same thing.I understand manufacturing considerations come into play when there is a design that's in use. So who knows if you can do a change. I might make an extension plate if this ever becomes an issue. But at this point it's installed and looks a little off with the straps forming a vee.

Not as advertised
The product is great and fits nicely on my Giant. You have to be mechanically inclined a little bit to make it fit.The reason for two stars is that the picture shows a spring-loaded cargo retaining clamp, and it does not come with it. Another purchaser also gave the same review, and they have done nothing to correct it. It would be too much of a hassle to send it back.
