Really excellent pump, easy to use and the storage/carry bag is a great addition
I have had a Ring RAC750 for a couple of years and never been completely happy with it, I had assumed being mains powered it would be powerful and quick, but it wasn't. This year it has stopped working, I can hear an air-leak inside, but I could not figure out how to open it to access the internals. So, I decided to buy a new compressor. I was a bit dubious about a compressor powered off the car battery, but I need not have been.First impressions are that this RAC900 is a well made piece of equipment, presented in a really useful carry bag. I like especially that there are 2 compartments allowing to keep the hose separate from the compressor itself, and the smaller size of the compartment for the hose will help keep it tidy and untangled. One small but excellent improvement/addition would be a small pocket for the adaptors. The fitting to the tyre valve screws-on, which is very secure. am happy it does not use one of the fiddly fittings with a plastic lever to lock it in place (or let it fall off part way through, or wear out and stop locking).I had a car tyre that had deflated to less than 1 bar and it was pressured up to 2.2 bars in around 90 seconds using the RAC900. I am happy with the accuracy of the pressure gauge, I checked the reading against 2 hand-held gauges that I have, one dial gauge and one LCD electronic gauge. All readings agree.Once the air-hose is screwed onto the tyre valve, you can inflate and deflate the tyre without removing the fitting. Just stop the pump to check the tyre pressure reading. The instructions are very easy to follow. The power lead, and air hose are both well long enough to make using this compressor very straightforward and convenient. All round it is a well thought out piece of equipment, which is not always the case from any/all manufacturers.I highly recommend this pump. The RAC900 is almost everything the RAC750 isn't, and is well worth the additional cost.Edit: 4 Oct 2018...used this for around a month, and it is superb, I am VERY happy with it. I had a leaking tyre and this was handy to keep it topped up. I then deflated my tyres completely and added a chemical to each to seal small punctures (Goop - available on Amazon). Inflating each tyre from completely empty was a doddle. The carry case sits in the boot of my car, taking up little space and keeping everything handy, and tidy. I cannot recommend it highly enough.EDIT_ Feb 2019: still using this compressor. It is excellent and so much more convenient than trying to find a garage with a working airline, or then needing the correct coins.EDIT_May 2020: still using this, it lives in the boot of my car, a great piece of kit.

Spend More Money Than Usual......
....on a compressor, and this is the one you should spend it on!I bought this after reading reviews on a few sites, not just on here. Nearly all said that this is an excellent piece of kit, and they were right.I bought this compressor because, as a caravan owner, I regularly need to inflate my car tyres at home and on site. I was fed up with paying £20 or more for 'top of the range' foot pumps, and having all of them wear out in no more than 18 months. So, add that up and it probably comes to more than I paid for this one.The compressor comes in a very useful bag, and the kit is lighter, smaller and quieter than I imagined. It inflates my tyres from around 30psi to 47 psi in about 2 1/2 minutes. Very quick and easy compared to anything else I have used at home. The couplings are all good quality and everything seems geared to professional use. The valve attachment is a screw thread, so you don't have to wait at the tyre when inflating. It can also be used to deflate as well. Check that you can access your battery easily because the unit cannot be plugged in to a lighter plug.I am very pleased with this kit. Only time will tell though........I rated it as four stars because I have only owned it for a short while.16/09/2012 I have changed the rating to five stars now. I have been using this for six months, and it is a quality product. Light enough to take away on caravanning holidays and certainly up to the job I bought it for.

Outstanding. Wish I'd bought one years ago.
Having owned and used several consumer-level tyre inflators over many years of car and motorcycle use, i started looking around for a replacement when the last of cheap ones died.I wanted something that was durable, not encased in cheap plastic, with long cables and hoses and good durability. And a mechanical gauge. No batteries or electronics. The Ring RAC900 delivers all this and more. The unit itself is reassuringly solid yet compact. The cylinder has cooling fins to enable sustained operation. Hardware is all metal. Nothing plastic to break off with age or chemical / UV weakening. Even the power switch is protected from the elements by a transparent rubber cover. All air fittings have a reassuringly solid feel, from the heavy rubber outlet hose at the compressor end through the coiled extendable hose to the brass push-fit connections. There's even a proper analogue air pressure gauge encased in protective rubber. The power cord is long and the crocodile clips of a good size and solid construction. In use, the unit is noticeably quieter than all my previous inflators. It makes very short work of pumping up tyres. Better even than some garage forecourt ones. I added 20PSI to a space saver spare in probably 30 seconds. The supplied pressure gauge is not too accurate, however. I stopped the inflation dead on 60PSI, then measured the tyre using a calibrated gauge, which showed just over 55psi.Still, that's a little under a 10% discrepancy, which is very acceptable for a unit of this modest price. The whole thing is housed in a fitted durable looking bag, which is a far better option than the usual blow-moulded plastic case that you tend to find on consumer products.Even at the full price this is a bargain. At the £79.99 that I paid, it was a steal.Highly recommended.
