Just arrived but not opened package as the appear to have a gap between blades but meet at the point. Will they work correctly like this?

Sorry I don’t recognise this condition when you say gap ... aren’t scissors made to bow so that the cutting point has a scissor action. If you’re suspicious of a defect I suggest you take a picture of it and send it to the supplier with your concerns. I’ve bought two pair of scissors one small one large, the larger pair is paper use specific... I have no issues with this brand of scissors and I bought a pair materials cutting specific for my wife... there have been no performance defects at all. I hope this helps. R

What is the difference between Fiskars needlework scissors priced £9.98 and those at £8.84?

I have no idea I'm afraid. It may be a difference in length and shape of blade, Why not contact the makers or importers?

This have arrived with slight gap between the blades - they do meet when used - is this right??

you can tighten blades by using the screw at base of blades

How light are dressmaking scissors to use?

They are not heavy. I had my carpel tunnel operated on in April and I haven't had any problems holding them.
