Brilliant idea, well made and huge time saver!
I’ve wanted one of these for ages and it hasn’t disappointed. It make working with doors so much easier and I use it when working with boards and other panel materials. Trend kit is always superb quality so it looks like it’ll outlast me. Just wish I’d got one years ago!

solid if you are using a router probably get away with one if chiseling hindge out please read
its a good product i used this at one side of the door and a magic door grip at the other side to hold the door . In my opinion you really need at least one support. and if you are chiseling the hinges out you need two and support at the hinge height . i got my son to push against it but you could use an external corner and use the holders.it is expensive and you do get what you pay for. The magic door gripper is cheaper and a little disappointing but it does work too and i cant make up my mind if i would have bought two trend door holders . but the trend will still be working in 10 years i really doubt the magic door holder will. but if your doing ( heavy doors ) yourself the magic door griper has the advantage of gripping the door straight away . Sorry i hope this helps .

Trend Door Stand:: Perfect for solo door fitting
Bought this to help replace a dozen doors around the house. Having done this job solo before I remember always needing a second pair of hands and this does the job perfectly and makes everything much easier and faster. Rather than trying to hold the door with your legs or prop it against a wall/banister this just works and can be adjusted to hold a wide range of doors (everything from thin soft pine panel doors at 32mm through to the chunkiest 55mm fire doors). It's rock solid due to the wide foor bar and it holds the door perfectly upright which lets you plane level and route out hinges without any wobbles. The rubber feet are grippy enough to stop everything sliding around on hard floors and the screw thread has a big rubber foot on the end to avoid leaving marks on the door. The ability to just tip the door into place is great too assuming you've actually got enough room to do it.I've since used this to hold sheets of MDF, etc that are thinner than 32mm by sticking some extra wood between the adjustable screw and the workpiece and it's never let me down once. I've only knocked off a star because it's quite expensive for what it is. If you're a tradesman then it's a no brainer and going to pay for itself in no time - either through the reduced time spent on each door or just by saving you having to get someone else to come and hold the door steady! As a DIY'er it's definitely at the expensive end of things that aren't essential - but personally I think it's great and wish I'd got one years ago. It's one of those things that'll last forever and whenever anyone mentions they need to hang a door you can just pull it out the shed and lend them it. :)

More Expensive Than Other Stands, But So Worth The Money!
If you ever work on doors or fitted panels this stand will transform your life, making everything so much easier, faster and safer.I recently purchased a Trend Professional Hinge Jig and realised the second I assembled it that I should have ordered this door stand to go with it. Luckily, Amazon Prime membership minimised the delay when I put that right, and with free next day delivery I was quickly back in action. In the past I've worked on doors whilst they've been either hinged-up and wedged, or clamped in a workmate. Neither are great solutions, and the workmate is always too high for safe working. By comparison, when your door is clamped in this stand and resting on the floor at an ideal height it's entirely steady, stable, and a joy to work on. The beautiful thing about it is that your door sits right into the corner of the stand, allowing it to be effortlessly pivoted from horizontal to vertical. It makes the transition from machining to offering up and hanging that much easier and safer. Other stands don't do this, which is why this stand, although more expensive, is much better value.Build quality is excellent as usual with Trend. This is a substantial and heavy stand made from thick gauge steel that's been properly welded and well painted. It's a tool that will last an entire career! The screw-in clamp has a big rubber face so your door is protected from marking and it can hold anything up to 55mm in thickness, so more than enough for the vast majority of doors.I've used mine for routing hinge slots, planing doors to shape, sanding edges, and as a stable base whilst cutting in deep horizontal mortice locks. For all these tasks the stand has proved invaluable, and I'd never go back to working without one now.Initially I debated ordering two, one for each end, but I've used one stand to machine doors up to 2.3m high without stability issues. So in practice, unless you have very flimsy doors to work on, one stand is sufficient. It's also very handy for holding ply, mdf and other panels. If they are thin you simply need to add a nearby off-cut as a packer, before you clamp up.I really love this stand, and I wish I'd ordered one years ago. Together with the hinge jig It has revolutionised the way I work on doors and turned it from a difficult chore that I avoided into an easy task that I now enjoy. I strongly recommend you buy one if you do similar work. It makes the job a lot safer and saves a whole heap of time too.
