Awesome knife!
This thing is huge, sharp, and comfortable to use. Definitely works great for cutting up large chunks of meat! That’s what it’s for after all!I use it when processing venison, or cutting up large beef sections. It helps reduce fatigue when meat cutting because the size and shape help you slice through those large hunks of protein.These dexter russel knives are all a great value, I own several. This is one I highly recommend to anyone who does meat cutting. It also works well to fillet large fish!

Excellent knife, not what I expected from a $22 knife
I raise my own food, and process it myself. I ordered a new 10" cimeter because I Had a cow that was ready to butcher. I read a lot of reviews and was prepared to spend $100+ for a good quality knife. After all the research I decided to risk going with an inexpensive blade.Oh man, was I surprised. Out of the box it sliced paper.I skinned and quartered an entire Angus without ever sharpening. My old set of Chicago Cutlery mixed with Rada, Cold Steel, Old Hickory and old timer, can't hold an edge through skinning, which is why I have a ton of knives sharpened and laid out on the table when I process meat. Not any more. I think I'm going to give away all my old knives, and restock with nothing but Dexter.Bonus! They are made in USA.

very sharp out of the package. So sharp you need to be careful from the top of the blade as its a bit sharp too but cuts amazing.

Dexter Russell is Outstanding!
One of if not the oldest American made. In Southbridge, Massachusetts since the early 1800s . Always trying to meet the needs of the cook and chef. I have handled knives of theirs from as far back as 1912 and the quality just is very consistant. They make the most nsf and sanitary knives in the business. Check out all their levels they even make knives for people with arthritis and joint issues. Not many knife makers do that. Love this company.

sharp but has a couple burrs on the blade.
The Dexter cimeter is sharp and well constructed, but it could use a little more attention to the finishing of the blade. Two Dexter knives I recently bought had burrs on the blade and would not cut through paper without catching and tearing the paper.

Just buy it.
Great knife for the price. Great for all levels of skill. Easy to sharpen and it holds an edge. This is a no brainer.

HAPPY BUTCHER
I have been a meat cutter for over 43 years and have never used Dexter Russell knives. After having this knife for 1 month and getting used to the different shape. I love this knife, it stays sharp, sharpens easy and is easy to use. I cut more meat in one day than the average person cuts in an entire year. Trust me on this one folks, the knife is worth the money. Take it from your friendly neighborhood butcher, buy the knife.
