This back support cushion relieves my back pain!!! I started having SEVERE back pain upon movement, especially when I would get up from a chair and I would have to walk it off to ease the pain; but I got the Duro-Med Relx-a-Bac Lumbar Back support cushion yesterday and started using it in my office chair at work and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! My back pain has gone down significantly and I am able to walk without the severe pain. I usually don't write reviews but I had to pass this on to others looking for relief from back pain. I am a registered nurse and I would not recommend this product unless it works; it may not work for every back condition, but for me it is a life saver; I do a lot of paperwork in my job and I was not able to sit for very long due to my back pain. I actually told a co-worker who also suffers from back pain and let him sit in my chair to test out the cushion and he immediately felt how comfortable it was and is going to order a cushion for himself. The cushion is soft enough to be comfortable but also provides enough support to my lumbar region to relieve the pressure on my back. I just can't say enough good things about this lumbar support cushion. In just one day, it has made a tremendous difference in my pain level. I am going to order another one for home use.

This lumbar support is extremely helpful for all back problems. It is attractive, compact, easy to wipe clean and can be used in my car as well as on the floor when I am attempting to stretch my back to balance the bending forward motion with the reverse motion. It is especially helpful when sitting at my PC. I recently injured my back playing golf and have come to respect the importance of good "posture" in maintaining a strong back. My daughter-in-law also bought me a foot rest, and as I sit at my PC, balanced on my foot rest along with my lumbar support, I feel immediate relief. I am glad to have this as an aid to my aching back.

Duro-Med Relax-A-Bac Lumbar Cushion with Composite Board Insert and Strap, BurgundyI am very satisfied with this product. I purchased it after reading the reviews online at Amazon.com. I often telecommute and was having back pain due to the lack of lumbar support in my chair at home. Since getting my Duro-Med lumbar cushion, I am no longer having the back pain. I have really great support and can adjust the pillow to different positions as needed. I also love the Burgundy color. I highly recommend this cushion for anyone needing the extra back lumbar support.

This was a gift to my Mother, she is 62 years old retired dental surgeon with herniated discs in the cervical, lumbar e sacral regions.She was in a lot o pain, and had no back support she was relying in lots of pillows to support her back. She is now using this on her sofa in the TV room, and she know she can take it to her office chais as well.The color is nice and matches her home decor, and the hard piece of wood does make a difference. She has not travel with it yet but plans to use it in case she goes for long rides in her car.I also bought for her an air inflatable one, but the duro med is not heavy and she could take it with her in a plane as well.I may purchase one for me too, I had already had surgery in my cervical with the placement of two artifical discs; and have a protusion starting in the lumbar region.Good product I recommend, from a family of spine sufferers :) to you...

I, like most Americans, sit in an office chair from the last century for a good 8-9 hours 5 days a week. As a result, my back has been aching for a few months now. I finally decided to buy this lumbar cushion and am overall pleased. The Burgundy color nicely matches the 1980s atrocity that is called a chair, and has greatly improved my posture...Perhaps a little too much in fact. The foam that is used barely gives when rested upon, which leaves little room for my buttock on the lower cushion. This is tolerable for about half a day. The strap does fit nicely around the chair but - as others have noted - adding an adjustable buckle would make it more universal. The addition of that and a memory foam replacement would make this a killer product.Pros - Provides support, improves posture, comes in multiple colors, strap allows for repositioningCons - Overly firm foam, strap is elastic but not adjustable - doesn't fit every chair

Tried the cushion on my over-stuffed couch at home first. It was very comfortable with the composite board insert. Brought it to my regular, adjustable, desk chair at the office, and found it more comfortable without the board, since my chair already has some comfort molding of its own. Been using it in the office for about 2 months and I'm very pleased. The padding is firm, but not too firm. I am a petite adult, and the sides hug my lower back just right. The strap keeps me from having to pick up the cushion every time I move. It will slide up or down a little, but I like that, since I don't always sit in the exact same position. I take a fraction of a second, every time I sit, to slide it to where I want it. I was getting a lot of lower back spasms before getting this cushion. (I have scoliosis.) This has helped tremendously. The burgundy cover looks nice too. Well worth the price for me.

I bought this to use with my office chair. To my disappointment, the cushion is so big that it takes up most of the seat! I'm forced to sit on the edge of my chair, which is very uncomfortable. I tried it on a couple other kinds of office chairs, and it was the same story each time.Maybe this cushion would work well if you have a chair with a fairly deep seat, so you can still sit back against the cushion. But for any of the fairly standard office chairs I tried it with, it was impossible to use!

I purchased this lumbar cushion for my elderly mother. She uses it in her reclining chair and is highly impressed with the comfort and support it provides. The outer fabric is very good quality, the color is true to pictured. The solid back on the cushion ensures that the shape of the cushion is maintained. Would recommend this product to anyone.
