Brilliant product - very sure grip in snow and ice
Ordered on-line, these snow grips arrived the day before the snow and ice. They are simple to fit and the velcro top strap ensures they won't fall off (on our first trip out, we spotted at least one snowgrip that someone else had lost! - apparently this is a well known problem with many alternative products).Bought a pair for me (medium size) and pair for wife (small size) - In use they felt very safe with no slippage in snow or even on the the most icy areas where the snow had been compacted and had refrozen. Walking to the shops they proved equally safe on a small area of pavement and roadway where the snow had melted, but were definitely not good on a small stretch of "tiled" pavement immediately outside one of the shops (the grips are quick and easy to put on or remove however so this should not really be a problem).My only criticism is that although the rubber structure is marked with "toe" and "heel" to indicate which way to put them on, the guide which is moulded on to the rubber, is in very small text and is difficult to see. The other issue we found is that there is no indication of size (that we could see) on the actual product, so there is room for a mix up if like us you buy 2 different sizes.Overall however this is an excellent product and it's well worth spending the little bit more they cost that buying one of the alternatives available - do make sure that it's the "Yaktrax Pro" that you order however.

No more slipping in the ice and snow.
This lightweight device will give you confidence to walk on ice and snow without slipping. It is easy to attach to (and remove from) your outdoor shoes, although if you have restrictions in your hand movement or strength you may want to consider a device that straps onto your shoe, as Yak Trax require you to stretch the strong elastic. Small and lightweight enough to carry in an average handbag - just remember a plastic bag for when they are wet from melted snow.The one disadvantage is that if you keep them on to walk on a tiled floor (e.g. a shop or door step) the wire coils immediately act like skates on ice and can be dangerous (I mention this because in Alpine countries it's common to see people walking into supermarkets with these-or similar-devices on their shoes, to avoid the hassle of taking them on and off mid-shop and handling them when they are wet and salty from the street).

Extremely good, sturdy and neat.
Truly excellent. I took these on a skiing holiday to use around the resort as I didn't want to have to pack an additional pair of sturdy boots. They fitted over my shoes extremely well, very tightly, and were absolutely brilliant on snow and ice. The metal springs Cut into the ice and snow, making my footing extremely sturdy. You can't wear them indoors very easily as they bounce around on carpet and on surfaces like tiles and wood are positively hazardous! But they aren't remotely intended for internal use so I'm not going to deduct any stars on the basis that they are only truly effective outside since that is what their function is. For the price, great value. Would wholeheartedly recommend these to anyone who doesn't want to have to lug any more shoes than they absolutely have to on a ski trip, or who want to use these when they occasionally get hit by snowfall.

Rubber Broke on Heel
I bought the Yaktrax Pro in 2011 but only wore them once in 2012. I have worn them 3 times this week and the rubber holding the coiled spring to the heel has broken. Given that they were £18.59 I don't think they represent very good value for money. On the plus side they are excellent on ice and for some one who is very unsure of walking on ice that is a good recommendation. Just a pity the rubber is poor.

Very effective, neat and easy to use
Have only used them once and for a short journey but 1) they are easy to but on, 2) fit firmly and in no danger of slipping off, 3) give a slightly weird springy feel to your step on hard surfaces and 4) stick like glue to snow, packed snow and solid ice. I was so surprised at how effective they were on solid sheets of ice that I was deliberately twisting and turning to see if i could make them slide....no way. They are very good and confidence inspriing.They pack down very small and would be easy to rinse off if they got too mucky. I can't vouch for their long term durability, however, as the rubber webbing seems thin-ish to me, but maybe it is the coils that take the brunt of the wear. For occasional and light use, I imagine they will last many years.

amazing product
these are fantastic. unlike plastic spikes the wire is made from hardened steel and even on patches of thick ice that's like glass you can hear your feet crunching and getting grip. There are two drawbacks as far as I can see hence why they didn't get top marks. Firstly I'm have a woman's size 9 feet and I ordered the medium size based on their advice. however they were a struggle to put on, and it's certainly not something I would do 3 or 4 times a day. This means that it would be difficult to nip in and out of several shops as they are difficult to walk with on laminate or lino. I can drive in them no probs though which is good, just make your feet a bit heavier.

I bought a medium to go over my wellies, which are quite thick, and it fits but needs some stretching to go over. You can also go by circumference of shoes/boots, have a look at the yaktrax uk size chart to be sure."}}]}]}
