IMO best home gum at under $1k TMD long read
Have now owned and used this home gym for almost four months.BOTH of my local Y's have become so badly over crowded that unless you go during off-peak times or the INSTANT they open, it will take you a MINIMUM of 2-2.3 hours to complete what should be a 1-1.3 hour work out and it's even worse if you want to use the cardio machines and you can absolutely forget about the weekends. I absolutely do not go to the gym to socialize or to meet people and make new friends, my only purpose is to exercise. So I set out looking for a home gym.Researched FOREVER (3 months+ home gyms) Was looking for a well built home gym my sons and I could work our shoulders, biceps, triceps, lats, forearms, chest, legs, in short a total upper body and legs workout AND have a Smith machine included in it AND must be compact enough to fit in my basement which is averaged size for a single family home with 8' ceilings AND MUST be UNDER $1kI feel for $963 TMD this home gym fit my requirements better than any other home gym I considered within my budget of must be UNDER $1k TMD. It is VERY well made VERY easy to use VERY well laid out for use VERY sturdy and I am confident it will last MANY years of trouble free use. My two sons and I absolutely love this home gym and there just are no words to describe the degree of convenience of being able to workout when ever we wish in our own home and being in my home eliminates every last excuse not to workout as the weather, time, the drive, waiting for machines, having to clean every piece of equipment before and using it, having to use the locker room etc etc are now all gone.Be advised this home gym DOES NOT come with a bench, yes one is available but it is an extra cost. I already had a very good bench so I didn't need to buy one.As others have said it came in three seperate boxes BUT lists on the boxes "1 of 2, 3, 4" but the fourth box is as others have said indeed contained inside one of the three that show up at your door, so do not panic when you find only three boxes at your door. All three boxes were covered in signs the cardboard had made hard contact with other hard things and had many areas were the cardboard hand been punctured and torn, but despite this none of the parts showed any sign of damage as they were all VERY well encapsulated in protective wrapping. All the boxes were made from extremely thick cardboard and also retained their structural integrity. You should seek help getting this in your home as two of the three boxes while aren't THAT heavy two are quite bulky and cumbersome and one was quite heavy even for me to lift and maneuver around to on my own and even though I moved all three by myself, bare in mind I am over 6' tall XXL frame and well above average strength for a man. So bottom line it's a very good idea to get help in moving the three boxes into your home and to the area where you plan on using this gym comes in.As far as assembly goes I am not the best person to accurately determine the difficulty of assembling what is in my opinion/experience a minimally complex piece of equipment like this home gym as I am a heavy industrial maintenance electrician who has spent decades disassembling and reassembling very complex machinery from average sized to absolutely huge and have at my home an impressive selection of tools both hand and battery powered at my disposal. ALL TOOLS NEEDED to assemble this MUST be METRIC. To me assembling this home gym was 100% a matter of following the pectoral directions and utilizing my decades worth of accumulated mechanical common sense. I will add it was a GREAT help in assembling this home gym that we first unpacked and arranged all parts in order of how they would be assembled per the assembly phases listed in the directions on two 8 foot folding tables, I believe this alone took one hour off our assembly time, and can not recommend strongly enough if anyone has one or more 8' or 6' folding tables you do so as well. I will add the makers of this home gym did a great job of separating the assembly into multiple phases clearly listed in the pectoral assembly book and arranged all of the nuts and bolts and assembly hardware on shrink wrapped packets labeled to reflect the individual assembly Phases. If you closely follow the instruction booklet I see no reason why anyone with average mechanical skills will not be successful in assembling this home gym.It took my sons and I (three adult males) working at a quite leisurely pace between 3.5-4hrs from unpacking to fully assembled, BUT I did use this as a opportunity to teach my sons with minimal experience on assembling large mechanical equipment how to assemble a (IMO/IME) minimally complex piece of equipment mostly on their own. If I had to do this entirely by myself my best guestimate on assembly would've been around 4.5-5.5hrs as unpacking and arranging all the parts on two 8' folding table I own took at least an hour in of itself. Having said that, my best guess/evaluation at the difficulty of assembling this home gym for one person with average mechanical abilities and experience AND some good METRIC tools is moderately difficult and at least a 5 hour assembly time if stay at it and take no brakes and work at a steady but comfortable pace. The fact I had two people helping me (especially with unpacking and arranging the parts) and TWO Dewalt battery powered impact drivers helped speed up the assembly greatly. As far as using the home gym my sons and I absolutely love it and have not a single complaint about it. The machines at our local "Y" offered nothing more of better than this home gym than this machine does. If all you seek is a great all around thorough work out for your arms, chest, back and legs you can not go wrong with this home gym.In summation, if you are looking for a well made, great all around home gym that is moderately difficult to assemble and you budget is UNDER $1k TYD I can not recommend strongly enough you give this home gym your consideration.

Great product, crappy Amazon support
This Smith machine was awesome, with quality pieces that took a little bit longer to put together because the instructions only had pictures of each step, no dialogue to provide details of step-by-step construction. It was missing one piece, an Olympic sleeve to hold Olympic plates.Amazon informed us that the only way to get that one piece was to dismantle and disassemble the entire thing and then send it back for a refund, and then purchase an entire new machine. They would not assist us in contacting the company to merely explain our situation and ask for the missing part.Amazon has lost its perspective on placing high priority for customers, especially their own customers. But SunHome has quality products.Thank you to Li Yu, once we contacted them they were kind enough to send us the missing part. That’s all we want, now that’s great customer service!

Great Value, Well Built
I purchased this unit for $899. I am pleased with the quality of the machine and would definitely buy it again. I based my decision to purchase on the reviews and I must say most of the reviews are spot on. The following is what I like about the unit and my minor criticisms of the unit.ASSEMBLY: I am a pretty handy guy and I must admit I was a bit dismayed when I unpackaged all the parts. It appears daunting at first. The instructions contain assembly diagrams only, which reference part numbers. There are four bubble packets that have every nut, bolt and washer. These packets go in order and contain all the hardware for the particular diagram you are currently working on. FOLLOW THE DIAGRAMS IN ORDER. Don’t skip a step or try to assembly line the process. Also, hand tighten every bolt and wait until everything is together to tighten up the bolts. You’ll need the play to get it all together. With regard to the cables, look closely at the diagram for the arrows indicating the path the cable must take. I made one mistake on these steps and had to re-do one of the cables. My one criticism is the steel parts may have a part number or may not. I found that only a few parts had the part number on it. So I just had to compare the part to the sketch on the diagram. There are 17 pulleys on the machine, 10 of one size and 7 of another size. No part numbers on the actual pulleys. Here, I had to look on the parts list to see that the pulley part number had either 7 or 10 to determine which one the diagram was referring to. Keep them separate. I used a ratchet wrench and a socket wrench instead of a crescent wrench and an Allen bit on my cordless drill instead of the Allen wrench included in the box. There are approximately 10 billion bolts on the machine and I found the alternate tools to be a time saver. I put it together myself with no help and it took about 8 hours. I believe it could be done much faster with two people.QUALITY: I am impressed with the quality of the machine for the price. The steel is solid and in most load bearing sections a steel gusset plate is provided at the connection providing extra strength and support for the bolt connections. The machine is sturdy with no rocking or displacement. A generous amount of accessories are included (long lat bar, seated row handle, rope pull down, T-bar pivot, crossover handles, ankle strap, etc.) The plate storage is ample and out of the way. However, beware of bumper plates that are all one size. The plate storage racks are designed for plates that are different sizes. Unfortunately, I bought bumper plates and I cannot utilize the center plate storage post because the plates collide. I have to use only the top and bottom post. The action on the Olympic bar slides and the pulleys is very smooth. However, you will need a light lubricant on the main post of the pulley rack. The collar that slides on the post would catch a little on the main post. I put a few drops of gun oil on the main post and it travels without catching now.CONCLUSION: For the money, this is a great machine. I am very happy with the purchase and would buy it again. Good luck!

Not much space to move around the inside if your tall.
Only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because of if I was a couple inches taller this would not be for me AT ALL. Being at the bar on the inside between the chest fly and the bar there is hardly any room it feels really closed in with not much room to move. Not to mention the back of my head hitting the chest fly when I barely take one step back. Other than that I love it. Refrence to my picture of the side view. Not much space to move if you’re tall. I’m 5’8. My fiancé is 4’11 so it’s perfect for her. A little too compact for me hence the 4 stars.
